tuning question

whatsup guys?
My question is: evo-8 ecu? or apexi s-afcII?
I have a 96 gst.
I found the safc for 230, but i can the evo8 for 250, plus 100 more to tune it.
what do you guys think?

The Evo ECU will provide a more powerful tuning solution (EcuFlash), and will also allow you to log via EvoScan.

The S-AFC will give you a piggyback tuning solution (not nearly as powerful), only allow you to run up to 660cc injectors, and you'd have to buy a separate tuning program.

The SAFC is ok for relatively mild power levels. 230 is an outrageous price though, you should be able to pick one up for 100, there was one in the classifieds the other day.

The ecu couold be a better choice than the safc. Although dsmlink is much better than both. I had the safc but then sold it for link.

safc's= cheap fail. They can only do so much and you;d be better off with the evo 8 ecu and tuning it. Sure it costs more, but it's a million times better: you can do a lot more with it and more "fine tuning", technically the ecu/tune is cheaper since you'll have to get them anyways down the road. Might as well do it now and get yourself accustomed to the tuning if you decide to do it yourself or even at a shop. You wouldn't buy a crappy turbo when you can get one that's a lot better for only $100 or a little bit more. I think you'd be a lot happier with the results from the evo 8 ecu and an actual tune.

Your going to be looking at 350 for the tune and ecu. Link is only 375. I have it and no regrets.
