After pulling my Master Power Big 20G turbo, and was told by Justin here on the forum a rebuild kit for it would be about $200, I decided to just go back to a dsm T25 , a friend of mine has the turbo for me, but on my exhaust a T3 5 Bolt flange is welded to it.

Now I guess my question is what do I need to make the DSM T25 work? Can I get an adapter that will link the t3 to the T25 hot side? Or what are my options? If you need any more information let me know

Looks like you got your hands full on this car. Don't end up putting more into it then its worth I would just fix up what you got now and clean it up and drive it. Look in classifieds and venders for parts you need and please don't waste time trying put a t25 on I would rather give you one my spare 14bs. But you will figure it out keep it going.

my vote is for spending the $200 and rebuilding the 20g, your not gonna like the loss in power.

I definitely don't like the idea of losing power, but it's an ebay turbo in which Justin states they make their own journal bearings so the only place I can get the rebuild kit is straight out of Brazil. At this time I just need it running for work, it'll end up a donor car when I get another 97 Spyder.

Err well ya know I'd take it if it's gonna make things a hell of a lot easier for me LOL, but I did buy an dsm o2 housing for $20+shipping from ebay

Lol not being rude you may not know but you bought a crappy small 1g o2 housing. You wanna get a 2g 95-99 o2 housing.

Err that's the wrong link, the one I got just KIND of looks like that, but I did buy a 2g stock one.
95-99

Comes with the o2 sensor, no gasket I think, but I should be able to come up with some Frankenstein way of welding the housing to the dp and then I just find out wth they did with my connecter for the o2 sensor. And a ton of power steering crap they did to take it out and not run it.

That thing's bigger than a 20G. Plus 20G is Mitsubishi terminology....Master Power developed their design by ripping off Garrett.
Bigger than 20G like what T3/T4? Not sure what you mean. The only thing I was told about it was it's a 20G when I purchased the car. That's not the reason I bought it, but it was a plus until I found out the expense.

Thought crossed my mind to keep it and rebuild it when able to afford it, but still what worries me is dumping 200 for the kit then even 30 days from rebuild it does the same thing. Another thing that worries me is why wouldn't Master Power distribute the rebuild kits to performance part vendors? At least make it more available.

Is that downpipe and 02 housing one piece? If so you will have to cut it off and weld on a flange to get a stock mitsu 02 housing to fit.

In the car? yeah but that isn't an o2 housing in the car, its just a 5 bolt flange welded to a dp. Gonna cut after the weld and weld the new flange to match the o2 housing for DSM.

T3/T4 is a poor way to describe a turbo. It describes a series of turbo with no regard to wheel specs. There are T3/T4's that are smaller than a 20G, and T3/T4's that are much larger than a 20G. Yours happens to be a T3/T4 that is a little larger than a 20G.
The only thing I was told about it was it's a 20G when I purchased the car.
You were told wrong. WAY wrong.

Compare what you were told to going to look at a 2005 Ford Escape from an ad you saw in the newspaper....and when you show up you find out it's actually a 1998 Chevy Venture.

Lol well put sir. It'd be a lot easier to know whats on the car if the previous owner didn't have an out of garage "shop" put all these mods on it. If I want mods on a car I'mma do em myself and if I don't know research it until I do know how then maybe I'd know how to repair the problems, if any occur.

What says you on my Frankenstein plan, think it's gonna work out?

Since the turbo you have is a t3/t4 setup, you probably have a t3 manifold, you will also need a stock DSM manifold to get a DSM flanged turbo to bolt up.

:hellyeah:

My car's issues have been worked out even found where they hit the o2 sensor plug in. I let the car run and drove it for a little bit without the down pipe on. Died once I think because there wasn't enough back pressure.

Manifold switched to stock, turbo switched to a TD05H small 16g, 2g o2 housing.

For the downpipe my friend had one, but it was from a GST, I'm just going to cut it get a 3" to 3" connector clamp the 2 downpipe pieces together (new to old) clamp it and weld it. All error codes are cleared, no boost leaks(unless back pressure counts?) No smoke, looks clean now since when we DID have a nice 52degree day I cleaned up the engine bay and block best I could without taking it out.

Anyways thanks everyone for the help. Now it runs and drives strong I can focus on gettin rid of some of this ebay doo doo. (narrowband, fuel pressure regulator, BoV, MBC, etc....)
