Ok i am trying to put a crankshaft position sensor back on my car but i have no clue on how going about doing it. I have looked on VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions but i can't find anything (i might have missed it) so can anyone help me like by giving me a write up or something that would help me with this. Also pics with that wouldn't hurt :)

Should this part of the crankshaft sensor plate be lined up like in the crankshaft position center or not? I attached the pic so you can see it. Also is there a certain way that that plate goes on? cause i know that it has like a little ridge thing where it goes in but I want to know if there is like a front side or a backside.

Mine jsut seems like the plate is to long and like its going to hit the sensor when i turn the plate. I had a guy come over and that happened to him so i got a new sensor and a new plate but i put the sensor on on the low part of the plate ( like where there isnt that high part) and it looks really close to the sensor so it looks like its going to hit it. what do you guys think?

The plate needs to go on one way look at your old plate and try to see how it came off match it up and the new one needs to go on the same way. and yes it clears the senors make sure it does don't bend anything. Make sure the sensor is on right also.

Ya I looked at the old one and you can clearly see which way it was on cause you can see the imprint from the gears and stuff that hold it in place. I hope i put it on right. Whats the worst thing that can happen if I accidently put it on wrong except like the sensor breaking again?

It will make a tick tick tick noise alot, then you will have to replace the cas again. I have a buddy that has done it. Eye ball it real good and pray don't bend that plate LOL.
