Well, the car is officially tucked away for the winter. :( Washed it, disconnected the battery, made sure the fluids were ok, and put the cover on it. It's always a sad time of year.

But before this happened, did get to take it out for one last track day. It proved to be too late in the season for that, though. With over a month of below freezing temperatures at night and constant cloud cover, the track was just too cold. Car spun like crazy off the 2-step, no matter what we tried. (playing with air pressure, and such) When I saw that none of the other cars were hooking either... kinda stopped trying to get it to hook. The big horsepower cars never even made a complete pass! Did race it once without using the 2-step, and it bogged of the line, but managed the best 60-ft of the day.... a dismal 2.1. LOL! Kinda sucks when a 16g powered AWD car is having traction issues. hahaha!

But it was fun to get it out one last time for the year. I do have some parts to order over the winter. I'd like to get actual adjustable timing gears, and the clutch master cylinder developed a leak. I'm also looking for a 1g throttle body, and possible a different intake manifold. Would really like to try to get this 3100 pound car closer tot hat 10-sec range on this 16g. :)

So to all you folks down south: I envy you right now!

Nice to see the car come so far. Would love to get in the 11's with my 16G. Even 12.4 at 18 PSI is pretty good for a full weight car.

On a side note, what kind of cover is that? Custom fit or universal? Looks like it fits well. Unfortunately it's something us in the north have to deal with... Looks like it's coming my way! :notgood:

Thanks! There may have been more in it with the 93, that was a last minute "tune" that really consisted of taking boost out of it and combining the SD table with the old 93 MAF-based tune. It was probably not optimal... but it worked out ok for the event, and for last minute. Chicken Patty did the combo for me using a few different datalogs.
But truthfully, I like playing with the higher octane fuels now. :) So I don't know if I'll ever revisit 93, until the Green XL goes on there.

I would really love to take some more weight out of it, but I don't think ther' much left without sacrificing the creature comforts. I did get rid of the A/C and the non-functioning ABS system. The Carbon hatch and hood helps, too. But the darn car still tips the scales around 3100lbs. So IDK...

The car cover is made by California Car Cover. It is a made-to-order cover, and designed to fit the car it is ordered for. They are excellent car covers, I highly recommend them. They can be pricey; the one on the car was $319. It's their best cover they make and made for outdoor use. Does a damn good job of keeping moisture off the car, and UV protection is great. Since this car is like a baby to me, figured it was worth the price. LOL!

iugrad92turbo: Thanks! The goal is to try to get it closer to the 10's on the 16g. I have a few things to try out, so we shall see. My driving skill will make or break it, though. So better get to work on that..... and stop playing photographer so darn much!

I heard of that company, I eliminated a lot of dead weight too ac has been gone, now I focused one getting it ready for the shootout, things look good so im really excited gonna paint tune for e85, speed density, and suspension then that's it for the plans for next year. How long was the cover from build time for it.

I believe it was about a week for the cover to arrive. I was out of town at the time, it was there when I got back.

Sounds like you have a solid plan for the shootout! Looking forward to seeing it!! I have suspension work to do, as well! Got in that group buy last year, but never got a chance to actually install it this season. So that is def. on the list, too.

Yeah im deciding on what coil overs to get if I get them or not uggg, but sd, bigger fics, and e 85 tuned come before paint, and suspension.

I hear ya!

Paint is tricky, as it typically requires the car to be down for a while and stripped and is the most expensive part. So don't blame you on keeping it last. LOL!

Well im painting myself next year ive done it before but I learned a lot over the years of teaching myself my friend also went to uti so I learned a lot from him, now im debating to paint evo white or factory teal I love that color rare, ill be the only one in town less than 5 1gbs in town and only one or tow 1g gsx in town here so ill see.

That's awesome! I wish I had the patience to learn that stuff!

Not much of an update.. just a photo of the engine in the sunlight:

Which one? I was looking at the dust cover , (mine stays in a dusty garage :)
This one is their top of the line outdoor cover. You won't need this crazy of a cover if yours is in a garage!

Santa brought you a new head ..how nice...what cams are you gonna run?
Yeppers! :). Can't wait till spring to get it on there! I'll be running some crane 264's with this head. After doing some reading on different cams these are actually pretty aggressive despite the lower advertised duration. If I don't like them, then the 272s will go back in it.

Cranes are the hot ticket...cranes n that head your gonna need a cage cause your gonna be to fast..LOL
:)

I will be one happy camper if it breaks certification!

But the rest of the car will need to stay in one piece, too!
I am now going back and forth with swapping out the rods, but I had the lower end balanced, and Idk if I really want to tear it back down that far. We shall see. It is leaking oil from what appears to be the oil pump front cover, so if that has to come apart, then maybe will just swap the rods and have it re balanced.

But then I'll just be temped to toss the Green Xl on there and forget the 16g.

oie... always so indecisive.

Very nice build. It's interesting to see what my 2G would look like if I decided to go 2GB swapped route(which I have been considering) and also it's REALLY good to know that the hatches are different, so thank heavens for seeing that, to save me some time and headache. It's awesome seeing a (semi)full weight 2G go 11's on a simple(you know what I mean by simple, no insults meant) 16G setup. The 16G is a lot more potent than people, especially around my old area in TN, are willing to believe. In an age where people are needing HX35 and up sized turbos just to run bottom 11's, it's nice to see someone bust out an 11.7 on an almost full weight 2G with a 16G. Keep up the great work, and keep us updated.

Also, where did you get those halo projector lenses? eBay special? How are they holding up? I almost bought a set for my daily driver(06 Accord) but read the eBay halos tend to die out pretty quickly, and the projectors are none-adjustable so the headlights are pretty bad about blinding oncoming traffic.

No problem! Figured it would be helpful to those looking to do the swap to actually see how odd the attachment for that spoiler really is. Just WAY easier to find the 2gb hatch.

And thanks! No offense taken at all! It is kinda fun to say "16g" when people ask what turbo is on it, and they seem surprised. :)

Those are ebay projectors. They are ok, def not the greatest by any means, but work. The only problem I've had with them lately is they seem to be peeling. Not sure what is peeling off, but something is. LOL! I did buy these used off of here, too... so honestly don't know how old they are.

Recently bought some different ones that will go on in the spring, too.
