My '92 Talon is only a year old for me and had a random second gear upshift grind to start with. After double clutching for a another year and fearing a timing belt failure I got a new "clutch and timing belt kit" with everything in between. Now with a much more active clutch, first gear will grind as well as second acting pretty much the same. A cold start is worse and stop and go city shifting is tough. Easing the shifter through the gate makes it work but 0 to 60 times are not pretty. The car runs fast through the rest of the gears and is more powerful since the new clutch, etc. Once the tranny is warm it seems to shift better but the upshift to second and the downshift to first is random. Are my synchros shot? Is my tranny shot? Is the new clutch installed correctly? I am a mechanic from multiple trades and am rebuilding this car myself with no time frame. Thanks for any suggestions, HB
