Yes we are in the process of doing a 6bolt swap and we took out the 7bolt and trany and did the swap. I put a new flywheel on the motor and have a stage 2 clutch installed and made sure it all lined up put the motor and transmisson back in the car. Heres the problem when we turn the motor by wrench the cvs turn as they should but we can hold onto the cvs with are hands and they stop turning but the motor still turns should it be doing this? if not what could it be? maybe my transmission has gone bad some how

any replys would be helpful

thanks in advance

Either the clutch was installed improperly or you could be in a low gear which means the torque multiplication is over riding your ability to hold the wheels still. If you are pretty sure about your work, just put it on the ground and see what happens. Besides 2wd isn't all that bad to pull.

Good Luck

Its still a PITA. All we have to do is remove a few extra bolts and the transfer case comes right out which only adds I would say 10 min's to the pull. Maybe 15min because you need to drain it.

well we tryed 1st 3rd and 5th all the same results

I belive the clutch was installed right unless i some how put it on backwords which i dont think i did. I got a new flywheel then put on the clutch then the presure plate then use the algintment peg to align every thing then bolted the transmission up to it.

BTW which way dose the clutch face when installing them?

Unless I miss my mark, the flat side of the clutch goes toward the flywheel. The offset usually goes toward the pressure plate

we jacked up my 2g talon esi and it did the same thing so i belive its all good here

if the car is off the ground it will do that espicaly if it is at a angle. thats nothing wird. its a fwd thing.

I think god me and my firend checked that on my talon n/t before droping the transmission
