Nice looking tranny..u doing any racing with it?

This is mainly a street built car that I do from time to time take to the track. I went to import face off a couple weeks ago and lost my clutch on the first pass which led to the recent clutch upgrade.

Just an update I ended up installing a TMZ south bend full face ceramic unit. I am very impressed with how the clutch feels on the street. The pedal is much softer than the Act 2600lbs , chatter is almost nil and the clutch is holding power very well. Its rated at 600lbs torque which means she should give me service for quite some time!

I've been to the track once with it. I toasted the clutch on the very first pass and it was so close to track season closing I haven't had the chance to go back. I have recently upgraded the clutch and since the tranny been in the car I literally beat the crap out of it every single time I drive it its an addition. Its taking much abuse.

I got a call from john (TRE) asking how's the tranny was holding up I said like a charm.

I find it necessary since it has been stated in a recent post of a thread of mine that that my tyranny is on borrowed time because of my torque levels I beg the difference. But at any rate I will post as soon as it decide to blow. Deal? Okay stay tuned for more to be thrown at it because I am not finished yet!

Obviously you don't drive the car hard very often. Go start pulling some 1.5 60's and see how long it lasts. If it was awd it would have been smoked long ago. Shot peening and detailing only do so much. You think Jon waves aahic wand over it and made it magically strong?

I was talking with a guy once that was into drifting, he said drift cars can usually get away with making a lot of power without breaking parts because of wheelspin. Makes sence, i guess.

Well its obvious something is done right its still together whether spinning or not! Mission accomplished thus far for the purpose. I must add the transmission has seen at least 100 dyno pulls in the last year no spinning what so ever. I contribute the success to the ati damper for sure:applause: great product! The update was to address the comment that the transmission was on borrowed time hahah. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/th...eys-understanding-the-harmonic-damper.451781/ post number 2 written almost 3 years ago and I have never had another transmission issue!

The dyno pulls beat it up for sure, but what really kills it is when it hooks up in first gear and it try's to put 1500ft*lbs thru the transfer gears. Like I and other said, it is living on borrowed time. Start playing on some slicks and times up soon.

Going to the track again this weekend with slicks so stay tuned . Played around last week on street tires burned up the front rotors and smoked the tires all the way down the track. I will post a video and time slip Sunday night if nothing comes up to prevent me from attending.. I will post pics of the slicks on the car later today.
