The transmission in my gs w/t has always had loud synchros, but It got bad recently so I switched to a valvoline fully synthetic oil for the tranny, it quieted them down great, but now a few weeks later I'm having issues. I used to run synchromesh but it makes the syncs loud. Recently I went to drive and my car wouldn't go into 5th, I got it in finally and after that it wouldn't come out. After this 4th started to go, it started popping out of gear and now it will go into gear, but when the clutch is let up it pops out, 5th does the same but in 5th it will stay in everynow and again and in goth it seems like it will grind like its not fully in gear. What's the issue here?

If it is popping out of gear than it either a shifter cable adjustment, 5th gear end nuts, or the shaft bearings in the transmission.

Only one of my cables is adjustable I adjusted it, 4th and 5th are just grinding and coming out when the clutch is let up. I'll check oug the nuts would they be broken?,

I replaced the transmission the otherday and the old one had about a quarter inch of up and down play in the input shaft. Now I have a new problem, after putting the new transmission in the clutch slips Like its in neutral. I bled the line, and adjusted the pedal. One thing I noticed was.that the throwout bearing fork has the slave cylinder compressed all the way in( pushed all the way to the right) . The tranny came out of a 1.8 and I'm wondering if the slave is different? What is causing this?
