3000gt fwd transmission

I am working on a 3000gt non turbo and the transmission in it looks kinda like a 1g fwd transmission. On TRE's site I was looking at the transmission parts and it took me to dsm fwd.

Do the transmission have anything in common, are they the same?

Yes they are very similar transmissions with some differences.

The 3000GT non-turbo FWD 91-94 transmission is NEARLY identical to a 1G FWD turbo trans, other than the bellhousing and the final gear ratios.

The trans could be used on a 1G Turbo FWD by swapping bellhousings and reshimming the trans.
