The transmission in my 93 Talon AWD broke. I got a trans
from a 92 and put it in and all is well. My problem is the new
transfer case off my 93 slides on except for the last 1/4". It
just doesn't want to go on any farther. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Greg

No. Shaft looks pretty good. it goes almost all the way on.
Everything is lubed before install.

Some transmissions- transfer case combinations don't work. If you have a 23 spline transmission and a 22 spline transfer case, you have a problem. Count the splines on the input shaft of the transmission where the transfer case hooks up and then count the splines on the transfer case. The number of splines must match.

Putting a 22 spline into/onto a 23 spline is like trying to put that square peg into that triangle hole. It's just not ever going to happen, not even half way.

Make sure you have the dowel pins lined up, and slide it back and forth a few times.

Maybe someone knows better than me, aren't the auto's different than the manuals? Could that be the problem?
