What Vband flange and clamp are you using? I plan on going hx40 with BEP Vband out. From what I have gathered you really need a vband flange and clamp from Bullseye themselves. However in mild steel they are $60-$70 :barf:
Anyone find a less expensive alternative vband that fits just as good? Also pics of your o2housing/downpipe as I plan on making my own so I could use some ideas.

With you being in chicago, I am positive there are semi truck parts suppliers and repair centers that can hekp you. We have a few in denver and it is like a giant parts shop and accessory store for semis. They are going to be your next cheapest. For the oddball ones we use them and have never paid over $35 for a clamp and flange. And the most expensive one was a 5" setup. We just paid $24 for a 3.5" setup for a S366.
 
Ditch the BEP housing. It's junk for making power. Most twin scroll hx35's make more power than any bolt on hx40. You allready got a sweet t3 manifold, use it and a 16cm holset housing.

Also, a good machine shop could make a flange, and they you can just use a stock holset clamp with it.
 
He probably thinks you are asking about the bolt on housing.
 
Sorry it's a t3 housing. From what I was told it's a t3 bullseye housing.

I ordered one off of ebay, it fits pretty good and never had a problem!
I think I paid $20 shipped for it.

Where are you coming up with this information? The highest-dynoed HX40 on a DSM (685whp) is using a .55 a/r BEP turbine housing, which is the smallest a/r housing available for said turbocharger.

Now the HX35 is a different story- the .55 a/r housing is a little on the restrictive side, but still capable of airflow that Garrett turbos in the same wheel spec category cannot match.

In the holset results thread. One guy that make 685 isn't indicative that everyone get that out of it. MOST people struggle to get 500whp out of a bolt on hx40, however many people make more than 500 on a hx35 with a stock ex housing and a cheap non divided header.

I'm saying its easier to get 500 out of a 12cm HX35, than 500+ out of a bolt on HX40.

But thats not what this thread is about, paul has a t3 .70 a/r, and I don't know shit anyway because I have a N/T
 
A link to said $20 housing would be nice. Do you know size of it? Will it fit a HX/H1 turbo or do that heve them?
