So, I bought a hx35 with a bep .70 housing and noticed I had a exhaust leak between the vband on the housing and my downpipe. After trying multiple times attempting to get it to seal. I figured out that the sizes are different. The bep vband is about .22in bigger than my 3" vband. So when tightening the clamp, it isnt able to center and is clamping both equally. Any one have this problem, suggestions?

The Bullseye housing is the same as any Garrett, or PTE v-band housing as far as I know. It sounds like the problem may be with the v-band flange on your downpipe. The only thing I can think of that might work would be to replace your flange on your downpipe to match the bep housing with something like these.

I also know that this one will work for the bep housing as well.

Good luck! :thumb:

It's also possible that your down pipe v-band got warped when it was welded to the pipe, take it off and check it, you might have to put it on a belt sender to get it flat. Even though its smaller it should still seal.

Just thought i should add that it was not warped, they are indeed different sizes (measured with my caliper). Althought both inside diameters are nearly identical the outside diameter is different.

I'm using it right nowwwww on the BEP. It's the exact same size. I wonder if the pte flanges would fit the garrett, you can get them here

I dont think that type would work on the bep housing

Pte's looks a little different than garretts

But both garrett and pte have similar sized mating surfaces.
