It's cool. But I think you may need to help excitement by posting some pictures of the details of the cars. I enjoy those technical suspension and brake pictures, engine pictures, cockpit pictures. I'd make another thread just devoted to your SuperGT stuff. It's really cool and deserves it's own thread.
Definitely post some detailed pictures of the build of your car as you prepare it for the speedway.

Yah I have to mill through my pics and see what I can and cannot post. Theres some delicate political issues at work there. I'll try to get that done soon. Just takes a lot of time because you have to look carefully. That one pic I posted I asked permission and that was sketchy already.

Even with LG, the only time I took a pic of the car was when I asked the crew chief to take it.

Pro teams are really sketch about photos, thats how everyone copies their aero bits and figures out what they are up to.

Flash, of course I'm aware of those photos, that's because the LG car is up for sale. Not because they normally go posting photos of every technical detail. Also I wouldnt dare have taken those photos, Louis and Anthony are taking and posting them. That means they are being approved on the spot too.

In either case, I'll be sharing photos whenever the hell I feel comfortable with the situation in talking with the crew chief, I dont think I owe to show the photos to anyone, I'm trying to do a favor and share what I can.

I'm not sure what to make of you, you seem to post in this condescending tone, am I getting you wrong across the internet or do you have a bone to pick with me?

I think you're getting me wrong because my recent posts have strongly encouraged you to post pictures of the revision of your 2g. Your plans sound fresh and new and I really want to see them come together. I also enjoy racing, so naturally I was asking for pictures of cars your around.

In the end I want to learn new and different ideas from people. And being in your position as a site Wiseman (adds credibility) I enjoy hearing about what your doing. At the end of the day I enjoy your posts with pictures and info more than a thread dedicated to painting valve covers a new color.
Feel free to PM me.

You get very defensive very quickly sometimes. Got any pictures of the new mods going into the eclipse yet?

I may be getting used to every word coming out of my mouth and being spoken by other people being extremely extremely carefully thought out. Believe me when I say that Japan and the US is like two completely different planets.

But I had gotten that impression from other posts as well and like I asked in the question above I wasn't sure if I was just getting him wrong across the net or not.

I have some pics sent from fab but I want to show some things when they are more finished up and look really really nice not just raw fab pieces... coming soon! Also we have a tremendous amount of work to get done before Mid november and a very short time to do it in so taking photos is a little low on the priorities but I promise some spy shots! This was really just launched into recently so nothing much is in a completed state.

^^^---> I think we all should be thankful that Drew shares anything within his motor sport world. And I think we can all agree that the man is extremely busy with work, education(learning new language and customs in a foreign land), and his personal life. I know I check up on this thread once and a while and can't wait too see breaking news when it comes to Drew's Spyder, but maybe we should just cheer him on and try not to ask for too much. I'm sure no one is personally upset about anything, and it all sounds like a small misunderstanding, but remember, we all joined this forum for the same reason, to share our enthusiasm for DSM's.

LOL - Drew, you definitely are getting it wrong about Grant. He's a good guy. We all just want to see as much as you have the time and ability to share.

Hey on a side note, can I ask that you start using the Blog system to update the progress on your car? We're trying to get people to start posting Build Blogs in the actual Blogs section as opposed to using the less efficient forum thread system. It's so much easier for people to follow along with, instead of having to read through pages of replies looking for updates on the car. I've posted a sticky in this forum requesting everyone to start transitioning to the Blog format for build projects. Thanks man.

And keep the photos of you're racing endeavors coming. It's very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for any misunderstanding there guys. I'll start a blog the next time Chris. I love japan, I dont want to go back to the US....

I totally hear you and understand what your feeling. The US is a great country, not perfect, but a lot better than others in regards to freedoms and opportunities, but once someone travels, lives, and works overseas and they happen to discover their love outside of the US, it seems like you find a new home and you just can't imagine leaving. It's like embarking on a whole new adventure and there's so much to do and discover.

What days are the Cal Speedway event taking place? I want to see this beast in action!

Bummer dude, I am sorry to hear that!

Any ideas what caused the failure? (Other than foreign object terminology).

Are there any parts that I could give you to help you out?

I have a spare 99 block and girdle (currently .020"-over, BSEK, plugged oil squirters -- requiring a .030-over, new squirter plugs -- or weld them up, and an align hone), along with a new set of 7-bolt stock-length Eagle rods in box (they were only installed on a set of pistons and just need to be pin fit prior to install).

I couldn't remember if you were 6 or 7-bolt, but I am willing to help in any way possible to get you back on the road with some donation parts.

Shoot me a PM if you want them and we can figure out shipping.

I am sure that there are enough people on here that would donate parts to help you out man. This community really appreciates the effort you have put in the car as it is a breath of fresh air with excellent innovation, and definitely shows a high level of teamwork. Let us be part of the team and give back to you.

Sincerely,

Yeah, Drew is running a Long Rod 2.4L 6-bolt.
Drew mentioned he's already .030" over and chances are he'll need a fresh hone at least.
So more than likely he'll need a another G4CS block to get him back up to speed.
He'll also need appropriately sized custom pin height 2.4L pistons as well.

Yeah, Drew is running a Long Rod 2.4L 6-bolt.
He really needs a another G4CS block to get him back up to speed.
He'll need appropriately sized custom pin height 2.4L pistons as well.

Well, if he needs a 6-bolt 2.4L block, I cannot help him out. I think I still have my 7-bolt 2002 Kia Optima 2.4L block that I stole my 2.4L crank from. I couldn't use it as the bellhousing is setup for a 6-bolt FWD transmission. It is missing the additional bellhousing mounting tab that the 2G 4G63's have.

Either way, Drew, shoot me a PM if I can help, otherwise, list up the parts you need and we can see what we can do!

Think of it as a "Pay It Forward" moment. :thumb:

I gotta say this though, this is our first year ever competing this car in road racing and even with something like this I feel extremely proud of what we achieved with the car for having never competed the eclipse in this type of racing before we have to realistically expect some hard lessons to be learned like this one about timing covers, especially in the first year.

nice job man!it is a very interesting journey. goodluck with your future plans! bring dsm to the top.

may i also ask for the the picture of your eclipse featured in dsport. thanks a lot man!

more power DSM!

I have a question for you, Drew. Does the convertible top ever become an issue with your aero design? Obviously, you and your team have spent a considerable amount of time on the design and build of your aero pieces and wondered if this ever posed an issue and, if so, how you designed around it. Did the airflow off the top and to the wing ever pose a problem due to the supports for the conv. top and lack of flatness of the roof? Have you ever considered a hard top replacement for smoother air flow to the wing?

Pete
