So it looks like my car will probably not be legal for street class next year. At least I'll be moving classes instead of getting outlawed almost by name like happened in land speed. Mod would be kind of cool anyways...

ahhh.. I ###ken knew it! modified it is!! :hellyeah: :D

aite, peace.

I just mocked up a splitter on my car. It's just riveted together to get everything fitted right. It extends all the way under the car straight across from the front of each wheel well. It is heavily braced underneath and very rigid. After I get all the little details worked out I am going to send it out to get welded. I have deleted the winglets on the sides. Originally those were going to be part of a canard setup but actually how it was positioned made it very difficult to attach it to the car. It also sit dead level with the ground to avoid creating lift.

I'm still waiting for you to send all that stuff we talked about. Down time is the best time!

Well... The stuff that was supposed to be ready for you about a month ago hasnt gotten done at all, it was depending on someone to have it ready when they said they would and they didnt. Sorry man Ill hit you up and explain...

OK guys I have an announcement to make. We're going to be running cal speedway event in Nov. This is the season finale, while we wont be in the points anymore (unless someone breaks in september) we can still make a point. This is the big show, the winners from the east coast will be there.

This track is 50% nascar oval and 50% infield this calls for a completely different aero focus.

This circuit is extremely well suited to a car from a land speed background. But make no mistake we have major competition coming from the east coast, Doug Wind's Neon has increased their power levels we think more than 100hp between the last two events and has been developing at a staggering pace, so we cannot rest on our laurels.

Wait till you guys see the car... I've already started working on the designs from Japan. Stay tuned. I wish I could show stuff but I have to keep it all under wraps until race day.

Drew, that is excellent news!

I cannot wait to see what you have up your sleeve!

Alright guys so the cats out the bag from people (myself included) spilling little pieces in various places since everyone that matters already knows heres the scoop

A specially designed low drag body, the one I always wanted to design for land speed but couldn't because it broke every rule. We scale it back a bit in terms of what can be produced in time for California speedway and put it together. I'm working on the details.

A new turbo, borg warner, big. Target 1000whp. yes on FWD yes on a high speed oval.

mechanical fuel pump, twin fuel rails, magnus race manifold and 1600cc injectors x 8

alcon 6 piston calipers and 15" rotors

and some other stuff, muahahah

one look at this track map, you can see why:

Motec traction control is going to freak out, consider that in 3rd gear we have to cut 500+WHP real time. I'm dealing with collateral issues like maximum possible power cut for traction control and effects on combustion in the exhaust manifold damaging the catalyst. It's going to take months of tuning to get it all working harmoniously. This kind of power is like half science project, half car.

I get back to the US on Oct 2nd I have basically 1 month to make sure its all done right and tune it. Nick and I are going to be very busy, hes already done with most of the fabrication pieces for the twin scroll manifold. Zirconia oxide internal coating, high temp ceremaic on the outside to keep the temps down in the engine bay with a heat shield to keep us from boiling the paint off the car.

Damn Drew, that sounds like it's going to be an insane setup!! And I thought your car was awesome as it sits - and you go and take it up 2 steps.

Hopefully everything is going well overseas, and good luck with the upgrades. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve with the aero stuff :D

You make it seem so easy to put that much hp through a FWD platform. I only hope to make my car half of yours someday. You always push the envelope and give me hope that my FWD can outperform other platforms.

WOW now that sounds like something off science fiction.. That biatch will move alittle..

YouTube - 2009 SUPER GT Rd5 SUGO Digest

You guys can check out more of what I been up to, here is a compilation vid that was made about the SuperGT race, the first I went to and I was taken with the Bandoh/Weds GT300 team. Driven by Orido and Kataoka ;)
RACING PROJECT BANDOH OFFICIAL SITE `TOP Page`. They dont get any time in that video because they were basically chugging along outside of the top 3. Doesnt make exciting video but in SuperGT after you win you get a huge weight penalty and you drop way back then battle with other heavily weight penalized cars for more points.

Also my friend Tomonobu Fujii drives for the orange GT300 Daishin Ferrari, he got a lot of time in that video. "¡ˆä½'¨ƒIƒtƒBƒVƒƒƒ‹ƒTƒCƒg
He's also a factory nismo driver and for the Asset Super Taikyu team I went to Fuji with 2 wks ago.

The race from this video was actually a few weeks back. The rain toward the second stint made things interesting and allowed Bandoh to land on top of points again.

This weekend I'll return to suzuku for that race, Sept 12-13 at Fuji then one more Super Taikyu race before I return to the US.

Toward the end was scary when that tire was loose and hit Wakisaka's car if that thing had been on a higher bounce and hit a little further over could have been really bad.

About to go to work so I just skimmed over this page. But I got a question. How would you install a mechanical fuel pump on a 4G63???

I know of them and somewhat how they work on older bow tie V8's. I think they have a little push rod, and the thing basically runs off the cam (i think) So how the hell would you set one up on a 4G?

It's cool. But I think you may need to help excitement by posting some pictures of the details of the cars. I enjoy those technical suspension and brake pictures, engine pictures, cockpit pictures. I'd make another thread just devoted to your SuperGT stuff. It's really cool and deserves it's own thread.
Definitely post some detailed pictures of the build of your car as you prepare it for the speedway.
