Data Aq I would say #1 tool. Never imagined how to use an old tunnel as a wind tunnel not sure how you would do that effectively, thats crazy

Custom and Hypercoils.

I have not seen the upper perch on Hypercoil site. I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. I may have not even called it by the proper name. It says Genesis on it. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about.

Thanks
Kevin

What your drawing an arrow to isnt a spring perch its a helper spring guide made by genesis. The upper spring perches are bilstein some leftovers I had. they are like this:

They are blocking your view of the upper spring perches because the helper springs are fully compressed.

Where is the car at currently, location wise I mean, if you don't mind me asking.....
This is literally exactly what I have always dreamed for my GS-T and you gave me inspiration on the FWD drivetrain that was surely needed. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to pave a road that has never been traveled before.

I just saw you were having a lot of work done in California and I would love to see this car race in person. I just got into the autocross scene and would like to pick your brain about some things.

the car is currently in Chihuahua, Mexico right now getting some work done. Kthnxbye :D

aite, peace.

I was curious as to what you thought of JIC magics FLT-A2s and the usage of sway bars on the FWD platform. The suspension setup is where I am really having trouble, especially since it has to be done just right. Thanks a bunch.

For Dampers I only use certain ones that i have direct experience with and I know are top notch in a racing enviornment. Ohlins, Sachs, Bilstein, Koni/KW, etc there are lots of good ones, but almost invariably a good suspension will cost you something in the neighborhood of $4000. There are too many dampers out there to have direct experience with them all but I stick to the ones used widely in professional racing and so that you can design your own damping curve and I dont mean by turning adjusters ;) Here in Japan the high end tuners (in general) who are building track cars also don't use the Japanese coilover kits, they use the same stuff. Ohlins, penske, sachs, etc... Bilsteins are the biggest bang for the buck by far but they don't have a DSM fitment. They are non adjustable but adjustable is 20% of it 80% is designing the damping curve which can only be done by valving.

For sway bars the sized I figure I needed, there were no parts on the market fit the bill and I had to one off custom make mine.

Thanks for the input, how was it working with robispec on getting the car aligned for cornering? I have some flying miata friends and they seem to rave about their experience with robispec when it comes to things like that. I also heard that corner balancing is kind of expensive for how little of a payoff do you get, does it really balance the car that well? Again, I really appreciate your input considering I'm quite a noobie when it comes to building a car for the twisties.

Corner balancing is an absolute necessity for a road course car. No question it must be done if you plan on being serious about handling performance of the car.

Robi is great I could not say enough good things about my experience with him. It's been a pleasure working with him on all the projects that I have had the pleasure to. Without robi, the level that the suspension on my car has gotten to would not be possible. His shock valving expertise especially.

I also did some aero design on a purpose built car that he has at the shop, and I'm proud to say that so far the car has shaved more than 4.5 seconds/lap @ buttonwillow on that aero alone. It has been an extremely rewarding relationship for us.

I don't suppose someone could convince you to make a few prototype parts just in auto cad or something for the 1G's? Just be something for the DIY kind of guys ;)

I don't really expect it to happen as busy as you are, just thought MAYBE if you ever have any spare time and get bored?

hahah the day I have free time and I'm bored.... that'll be the day I make 1g parts hahaha with my current schedule it looks like that should be sometime around 2018

wow.. 2018.. thats the year that I wanna retire :D ROFL

Could you give some photos of your custom sway bars? That how I get ideas for my car.I was thinking of modding some tubular anti-roll bars from Speedway Engineering on my 1st gen. Start with the rear then built a front bar.

I was also thowing the idea on building a rear custom coil over from Speedway motors. They have 2 heim joint mounted at both ends. I will have to biuld a mount on the top.and fab a stud on the bottom. The brands I am looking at Afco,QA1,Pro,Bilstein,
