Nothing short of inspirational Drew. I'm sure everyone on this forum shares my feelings of happiness for you in what you've been able to accomplish so far this year. This has been a HUGE year for you and your team and I'm sure everyone who's followed this thread has been inspired in some way or another. You're living everyones dream right now and I'm gald that all your years of hard work are finally coming to fruition.

Drew, assuming you went to school based on your knowledge. What did you go to school for?

I believe he went to a Mormon college somewhere in Utah and another party college down in Nevada :hellyeah: Drew told me some crazy stories during his college days.:D

aite, peace.

I originally studied originally in 3d animation and design. Then later changed to Mechanical Engineering. I know big change right? But its all become sort of applicable in the end.... I had been programming since I was really young. My first commercial software was published when I was 8 years old, it for Atari computers.

I was paying my way through school working as a programmer and ended up as a software engineer because the dot com boom really came in just after I finished. My family are either teachers or engineers for the most part so I was always into this kind of stuff, always fascinated me. When I was young all my baby pics I have a plastic wrench or screwdriver in my hand because I'd cry if they took it away.

One interesting thing about automotive sports in the middle east.....all the techs/tuners/mechs/designers are Expats from all over. Kids don't grow up tweaking their rides locally, it just isn't a common thing here like in north america or asia. So all the talent is hired from outside. Most of the people i have met that worked for race teams in the region were British/Aussie/German professionals.

I heard about that before! I actually got offered a job once in UAE, which paid a completely insane amount of money, I was young and not so serious about life then. But from what I understand there's a decent boom going on over there and things are really changing and growing from a business perspective.

That's awesome. So this means that you will develop some high quality race parts for DSM's in the future? I know it would cost a lot (referring back to the knuckles you wanted built), but who knows. :)

There are lots of parts which have already been developed on this car, but do you mean sell them publicly? Most of the stuff is so one off and custom. Right now nick is working on the swirl pot and triple pump setup, for example. There are several parts which were custom designs for the suspension, there was a lot of R&D work and some fluid modeling for the intake system. There are a few projects which I never finished like the aerodynamic throttle plate, there are so many parts top to bottom that were developed specifically for the car.

Well guys I know some of you are going to be real bummed out, so I'm sorry for having to tell you about this. One of the reasons why I have been slow to update recently....

When I leave for Japan, this has turned into something bigger than I thought, things are happening real fast so hard to get details. But basically. We are throwing the car together for this race and do not expect to run any more races this season. I'm following my career opportunity to Japan and I wont be able to develop or repair the car over the summer and maybe even any time after that (in the US anyway). For the event at the end of the month, we're just getting the car running at this point to make the race. So please don't expect much. I'm sorry to let people down, well I'm hoping to eventually bring my car to Japan and race there. I hope you can all understand.

Sorry to hear that Drew, but it is only a car and your career is much more important. Keep us updated and be sure to check in once in a while. But congratulations on the new chapter in your life, I'm sure it will be exciting. Best of luck.

Drew, do you have data with you intake temps before and after you wrapped your intake manifold in the gold heat reflective tape? I always see it done on race cars, and the gold heat wrap adds little to no extra weight and offers a lot, but I just am interested in the data?
