Thoughts on a new turbo?

I am currently running all the mods in my profile except for the turbo i have listed. I was running a gt4088 on my stock 7 for about a week before i realized its not as fun as i expected. Its exceptionally laggy for my 2.0 and was wondering what experience people have had with the BW s258. I ran across a video on youtube and it got me to research it a little bit more and from what i gather its got 650hp potential but super fast spool and great performance all around. Just wondering how many people have this unit and if they would suggest it? I wont really lose out on much bc i made my manifold and downpipe but its t4 flanged so possibly replacing it with a t3 is an option. It just looks like the extended tip option is pure sex in more ways than one

it says in your profile that you had a sc6152. thats supposedly basicly a journal bearing gt35r. i understand the hta is supposed to be better. i know the strictly modified talon that went 10s on 16g went high 9s on the hta35r.

scM6152, a little bit different . If i wanted to spend 1600 dollars on an hta id buy a t04z from hks just to have the bragging rights.
Maybe im thinking the HTA is more comparable to the to4r p trim...oh well...figured id edit this before i get corrected

I was just asking about the s258 bc its got a much better flow capacity than the SCM6152 that i resorted back to using now, and almost has the same flow i THINK that the laggy 4088 i have has. All i know about the turbo is its like 1200 bucks, rebuildable, and good for like 650hp....is anyone using one? I wanted opinions on this turbo since the only real comments im getting about it are in the srt forums.

its a bolt on mitsu, i know! That 6152 is capable of 10s with the supporting mods and enough boost! I'd try and push the most out of that one first, since you already have it bolted up. Its not like its a 14b or something

I just realized the compressor wheel on this turbo minus the extended tip is basically the same as a 60-1. Hmm, what to do what to do

I think all of these turbos will yield great and similar results with the right tune of course. But as far as the best for your situation, I would say FP3575 or HTAgt35r which are pretty similar. I suppose the hx40 is 600whp+ capable

Hx40 Pro with bolt on housing/12cm will own that turbo !!

A hx40 PRO in 12cm housing will own a hta gt35rhta for a big power street turbo which sounds like what he wnats and neesds. A fp3575 is not in the same category as a hx40 you can't compare but a hx40 pro and gt35rhta are.

Show me a gt35rhta that hit 650whp and hit full boost by 4200. everyon that has run a holset and posted up info is deep into the 11's with basic setups and not even fully tuned yet.

Id rather just talk about quarter mile time! I didnt see any in the thread that were in the 10s and these guys were running 30psi+. Sure it spools great for the size of it and makes great power. With all the people running holsets and the amount of threads on it, i'd expect to see more vids of 1/4mile

There are a million turbo choices out there, and probably at least 10 that will work for a given desired power level. If you want to believe the holset is the greatest thing in the world and makes 1000whp and spools like a 14b, thats fine. As of late, every time someone asks what turbo they should run, everyone says the holset and gets upset when someone says otherwise. They are nice turbos, dont get me wrong, spool fast and great power. But just realize there are many other turbos comparable to the different holsets and some may come at a higher cost and if your lucky lower

I will agree there, but most guys in that results thread had some pretty extensive mods. Wyldkardz and the SM car dont have out of this world parts. They have a good effective combination! The SM car uses an FP manifold with adapter plate

It also has EMS COP slicks on all 4 corners which none of the holset guys have which is huge and oh yeah no headlight

dude, i ran an 11.6 on 93 octane with my hta at only 20psi...
