My fans are turning on late in my opinion. Found some reference when googling that they should come on at around 190 to 200. Mine are more like 203 to 206ish logged through DSMLink. I'm assuming its on its way out as it will sometimes shut off at 210 as well after cooling from 213.

I found this sensor http://www.nitomainc.com/npsp2.php?masterno=MB356704 and wondered if its any better than the others.

It references a Beck Arnley part with no specs I could find as well.

I think you can control the fans to come on at certain temps in the link. I drive with both fans on ALL the time! Temps stay nice and low. Also my digital temp gauge is a few degrees off compared to the link also.

I could hard wire them to the ignition on but trying to avoid that. It drops my volts to 12.5 with the power of the fans kicking on... id be happy if they came on at 190
Wow 12.5! Try running a thicker gauge wire along with the factory wire from the battery to feed the alternator more voltage. I also added a fuse to that thicker gauge wire. In the future you can also upgrade to a HO alternator like I did. I'm getting 14.2 volts ,fans on all the time. I followed someone's thread on this and works perfect.

Once i get cooling down ill be looking into an alternator that pumps out higher amps. With HIDd and thes fans im going to need it. Whered you get yours?

The fans on 1g kick on at 210* so as far as that's concerned, your system is operating properly. The OEM thermostat opens at 190-195. You cannot adjust the temp at which the fans kick on just through link on a 1g. But you have a few options to do so otherwise.

1. Jump the fan relay and have the fans on all the time (like stated already)
2. Wire in a switch inside the car to turn the fans on manually whenever you want, and use an aftermarket water temp guage OR make the stock boost gauge display coolant temp through link.
3. Buy an adjustable fan temp controller, like the ones sold at summit, wire it in and make it turn on at whatever temp you would like automatically.

Hope this helps.

I wish there were more options for 1g stuff... may ned to just call one of these places... 2g is regulated by ecu so it wont work in 1g
they should have HO alternators for the 1g and Galants as well just hit rhese filks up on the amazon website. They do
respond.

On a 1g to run fans all the time ignition is on, it's as simple as unplugging the thermo switch (on the bottom of the radiator) and jumpering (shorting) that connector pins together.
Shoot old thread revival....

But if a fellar wanted to, then could ground out that connector and throw a switch in the jumper wire, that way it could be manually turned off and on easily

Yes they could.
