I own a 95 420a eclipse gs. i wanna put a new crank sensor but all i find are the newer style sensors with the flat pins. I was wondering how you might be able to wire up the connector from that sensor to the 95 wiring harness. any help would be great.

95 models used round pin connectors
96-Up switched over to flat pin connectors for OBD2

Your best to find the original up to the 1995 model years and install it. I understand your delima the parts cost. Crankshaft Position Sensor Eclipse/Talon 420a - CI Motorsports They show there is 2 different styles of designs for your vehicle.

In that year the DSM's gone thru a change in electronics and your vehicle just happen to be caught between 2 different variants in technology that was becoming available. You have no alternative than to order the correct part for your vehicles year, make and model.

Cut the sensor side connector off both the old (round) and new (flat) CPS leaving enough wire length for the following reconnection (also to reach final sensor location). Solder the old round connector wires (on round connector) to the new CPS wires as follows: yellow to yellow, black/green to black/green, blue/white to blue/white. However, before connecting and soldering, slip on some heat shrink tubing over each wire, and then after soldering slide it over the connection and heat it (with hairdryer, heat gun, or match if you're desperate) to shrink it tight for protection from elements and corrosion.
