Crank Sensor HELP!!!!!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

There is no crank sensor on a 92. The crank sensor is actually referred to as a Cam Angle sensor and it is on the passenger side of the head. You can find them on Ebay all the time. You have a choice between the Black Top and the Green Top, the Green Top will do unless you have a 6-bolt in a 2g. The Black Top is said to be more accurate, but not proven to be better or not on a 1g.

You should be able to find one for $50 or less on eBay. You can also get one from the junk yard. The N/T and Turbo CAS is exactly the same.

I would say the CAS could be the culprit then.

You can pull the CAS off and turn it by hand. If you hear the injectors click, that part is good. You can also pull one spark plug and turn the CAS by hand as well. If you see spark while turning the CAS, the CAS is fine. If not, it's probably bad.

The 1g CAS has 2 contact points, 2 sensors inside. 1 Sensor controls the injector firing, the other sensor controls the spark. If one of those sensors inside goes bad, you lose one or the other.
