The Battle of "Eris"

100% stock, un-wrenched 1g. Been sitting on it for over 20 years waiting for my chance to build. Diamond in the rough at this point?

Nice progress. Details matter in the crappy tight spaces. I took many many hours prepping and prepping some more. Use some of those tiny stainless brush thingies that go on the end of your screwgun to help get in all the nooks and crannies. They helped a lot. I must have went through 50-100 of them. Little heavy duty degreaser with them gets the crap out good. Blow the shit out.
Eastwood pre. 70% final wipes. Don’t skip steps. Wheels do quick work but leave horrible scratches that show up really bad with a nice paint job.
I final hand sanded mine to 220, 320, then 400 grit. Literally folding the paper into 1/4” pieces to get everywhere. I know a little OCD. Hundreds of hours in prep, lost count.

Lots of different ones on there. Some better than others. Whichever looks stiffer I would go with. The softer ones shit the bed in seconds. Can’t go too fast with them either. Slower speeds only.

Thanks Vic. My backs hurts even more just looking at those pics. Lol
It is nice to look at again. Be nicer to drive one day. Although I don’t get to actually see her much as she’s hidden by the dust cover.

That means a lot Vic, thank you. Lot of people have told me negative things the last 25 years, but I see what I want in the end. Not giving up. If I die before I get there, one of you can have it all.

Dibs. All you other f**kers are SOL!

But, gotta fly down and help out sometime. I’m itching to do more project stuff since mine is basically done.

Every one of us DSM owners has had our sanity questioned more than once by friends and family.

It’s when we ask ourselves that question that it gets dicey. Thankfully most problems get solved and the sun shines again.

Our simple answer now is, “Because we enjoy it.”

We’re also enjoying your build. You’ve tackled far more than most of us have and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful car.

It's weird to think about how long some of you have had your projects. As time goes on I feel like I'm starting to get slower and slower. I go into my pit of a garage to wrench on the cars and most of the time I just stare, nothing gets done but I see the end result waiting to get finished.

Thats very cool thank you. Not gonna lie some of the next steps got me pretty intimidated, but looking forward to learning those parts too.

Facts. I feel like I’m in slow motion now compared to 20 years ago. I’m trying to keep the steps compartmented so my brain doesn’t add to the delays.

It’s all the adulting stuff that gets us. Tons of projects to do on all the cars but 10x that with house projects.
