what up guys,
i have a 1998 gsx now i just bought it but the tachometer isn't workin and the speedo is off im not sure where to start diagnotics with this one any help
it has a bad altenator and just had a tranny rebuild (worked fine after rebuild happend month later during the same time the altenator was going bad) so im not sure if that has something to do with it or not any help would be great.

have you checked the fuses? I know it sounds dumb but it's the easiest thing to check that would make it stop working. I know my tach stopped working and it was just a blown fuse.
 
Hey did u ever figure this out ? i am having the same problems as you. and i checked all the fuses and nothign still
