t3 junkyard turbos info help

Hi I have a 16g turbo and I was just wondering if there are any cars that I might find in a junkyard that have a t3 turbo that would flow more power than my small 16g. I was thinking one from a rx7 or a toyota supra or maybe even some saabs or volvos may be bigger. was even thinking that one from a mercury merkur would be bigger just need some people that know more about t3 turbos to give there input. and if u do know some please list make model and year and engine if possable and specs if u know them.thanks in advance

You got yourself a very nice turbo, why would you want to downgrade.

I hope you mean turbos off older cars, because I havent seen new cars in the J/Y that still have turbos

The only bigger turbo is off the Supra. C26 or whatever they use. IDK about the RX7 turbos, never seen one.

Volvo turbos are MHI 15g and smaller and still smaller than s16g
Saab turbos are Garrett t3 with .42 turbine and compressor housings. They are just pathetic. Just slightly bigger than the stock t25.

I have a ebay small 16g need I say more. and was wondering about the subaru and neon turbos c a lot of them for sale on craigslist.and also I have seen a old rx7 turbo up close and looks big and know my neighbor has 2 of them and may want to sell one but don't want to just jump in to a turbo like I did with my egay 16g.are the ebay 18g and 20g turbo junk too.I know I could just rebuild my 16g with t3 rebuild or a real mhi kit but would like a different turbo

the easest way to put it is any turbo from ebay that is not from a direct owner like a real 1 person that is internally gated is junk.anything that is externally gated is actually really good i know from experience and so does my buddies...consiering they have ls based motors putting down 600 plus on externally gated turbos from ebay.

Was thinking the td05 20g with 750cc injectors with stock ported manifold modified for a external gate with safc later down the road just don't know what brand these turbos are on ebay they don't show any name just numbers so who knows who makes them they could be your neighbor making them in there garage for all I know

There are loads of pages and info on holset turbos.
Those turbos are known for their great spool and top end power and are the new hot trend amongst the DSM community.
Check out the forums, search for holset turbos.
You might need to switch out the turbine side or if you wish to keep it get a t3/t4 manifold.

Why are you set on a T3 style turbo anyways? If you have a 16g then your car is currently set up for an MHI turbo in which case you will need a new downpipe and a new exhaust manifold to go to a t3 style turbo.

Like I said I am not set on a t3 turbo .they have a adapter for the t3 turbo to fit a stock dsm manifold.I will also be making a small downpipe section for the turbo my self.just am looking to c if I can find a old t3 turbo that will flow like a 18g or 20g

haha yes... that was a run on sentance from hell! haha

if youre junk yard hunting look for dogde rams' with the turbo cummins!
even some old suburbans with the cummins!!
If you find any look at the holset tag on the turbo and try to find an hx35!
altho the h1c will do, the hx40 will too!! The turbos off the cummins are known as HOLSET turbos.... and the HX35 is a monster....

Looking to go like 380hp. Don't want to shell out the big buks and go forged.just rebuilt my block so I will later down the road.just know my ebay turbo is on its last leg and will have to replace it or rebuild it .just want a bigger turbo than a 16g

holset is yourchoice here.

18g and 20g turbos are great. They flow what he wants, becasue that's the turbos in the range he says he wants. They arn't over/underrated. Other 46-52lb/min turbos in the jy are hx35s and certain h1c turbos. . .
