Get the TO4E. Spool is quick and you will never have to wonder"should I have gone bigger". If your goal is less than 400 HP you will reach it easier with the bigger turbo.Mark

yeah but i want the t04b because the compressor is about 1" smaller then the t04e and it actually fits into our cars

im not a big fan of banging water lines and buying $400 fan kits to make room for a huge compressor cover

1029TSG, I'm also very interested in one of your turbos. I really like the prices and quality that you offer. I was just wondering why you don't offer any ball-bearing turbos with the GT trim wheels like many of the other manufacturers do.

Just a suggestion, but I think that perhaps you could offer a welded elbow on the turbo outlet to ease the installation. I'm sure a lot of people would purchase this option.

Ball bearing turbos are expensive and very susceptible to trash. The last thing we want to offer our customer is a $1200 turbo that only lasts 12 months. Besides, even with a pre-filter, dollar for dollar there isnt a real big performance gain. If you're looking for quick spool up it can be easily achieved with a small A/R turbine housing.

That elbow question occured to us just the other day and we have elected to carry a 5 ply silicon elbow. This will eliminate the need for welding and the use of additional hoses and clamps. They should be in stock within the next two weeks.

so anyone with results yet?

How will this t3/04b compare to a 50trim?

And which wheel is better for the street, the V trim or the H3 trim?

I have a bullseye turbine housing with a garrett compressor housing that is a 50 trim. It spools surprisingly quick and I stll have more tuning to do! I think the TO4b is like a well tuned EVO or an 18G. My advice is to get the TO4E and the 50 trim. I can only run 13 PSI because I have 550cc injectors from my EVO setup so 710cc's are on the way! The 50 trim is well established and you know what you're getting. Back to the turbine it's the most beefy housing I have seen! The oil drain flange is way better than stock also, Sloid! Mark

I have personally made 391 at the wheels on the V-trim (24 psi) but since we just started selling this combination a few months ago I dont have any customer feedback as of yet. The V-trim is a 48 lbs/min compressor wheel, the H-3 is a 50 lbs/min and the 50 trim splits the middle at 49 lbs/min. With this said, they are all quite different in the way they make power. Pound for pounds (psi) The V-trim and especially the H-3 move a lot more air at lower boost. If you are basically a pump gas (15-20 psi) street car with an occasional 24 psi race gas pass at the track or dyno the V-trim should support around 350 whp at low boost and 400+ at the higher boost level. The H-3, you can typically add an additional 50 whp to either equation.

Like you said, the T04B is nothing more than an affordable alternative to the 16 or 20g turbocharger. Compared to either of these turbos, its going to have a higher CFM rating, great spool up (thanks to our housing) and cost less than a clipped, ported, wastegate modded, gonna crack Mitsubishi turbo. And by no means should it be compared to an $800+ T04E 50 trim, 60 trim or 60-1.

Well, I'm still getting mine I have almost enough now, By this coming week i'll have it all, for everything. I had a big16g, but i wanted the to4b, i hope i notice a difference, and i do have almost every supporting mod i think except cams. :)

which is more efficient, the v trim or the h3 trim

And whats the deal for a t3/04b vtrim with external wastegate?

If it realistically makes over 300whp without going over 20psi on decent gas(100octane) i will be happy( on stock head, cams, intake manifold)

I will be runing my 650cc injectors, 190pump and my afc and wideband for tuning

The H-3 is a tad more efficient than the V-trim, but its the larger inducer on the H-3 that allows it move more air. If you have or want to run an external gate then the price of the V-trim is $579.

1029TSG I have been running 25psi all day on my v-trim mutt and im looking for a upgrade. My goals are 11s every day. i have 750cc injectors a waldboro 255 pump, ported 1g head, cams, venom intake front mount and slightly lower then stock compression. My lower end will be stock until it dies. I'm thinking the HX-40 is the turbo for me, but I'm scared it would be really lagey for street driving and not clear my water pipe and radiator fan. Let me know what you think and what other options i would have. love the prices of your turbos. :thumb:

then my last question is what is the lag difference betweeen the vtrim and the h3 trim

On a 99gst, stock head, intake, cams, with fmic and all other bolt ons and fuel, about what kind of spool am i looking at with booth?

I've got a Bullseye turbine on my AGP 50 trim and it spools as fast as my ported EVO 16G did! Maybe it's the extra power at lower RPM's that gives me the idea that they are so Quick! Gotta love that beefy turbine!! Mark

ok and finnally, what size inlet pipe do i need for the intake?

Is the t04b compressor a 3" inlet? Meaning will a standard 3" inlet pipe fit it?

You said before its 2.75 but is that od ir id?

If i get a 3" pipe with a 3" sleve, will it fit ? I forget how they rate these intakes and sleeves, whether they are also id or od?

I would suggest one of our T04E's. The installation will be smooth and it should easily get you in to the 11's. The HX-40 is really made for 600+ whp where your stock bottom end is not.

There would be little if any spool up difference between the two T04B's since they are so similar. Both of these turbos have a 2.75" OD intake. You could use either size intake, you just may have to sleeve it or run a reducer.

Got any pix of the drain kits? I bought my h3 from a friend of mine brand new and never boosted and when I went to install it, i ran into the drain tube problem. It is a pain to get on and I dont trust it. So is the drain tube kit you sell full ss hose from flange to flange? If so, count me in. I live in jacksonville also, can I just drop by and pick one up when you get them in?

We are still waiting for the new oil drain kits, it should be some time next week. I wont have any pictures until they are ready to ship. Just keep an eye on our website, I will update it as soon as we receive them.

I just ordered all of my stuff today, Cant wait until it comes :)

If you want after you install it and "test" it, write a little review for the turbo on there website, that would be so :thumb:

I have 2 T04B H-3's with internal wastegate in a box and ready to ship. We built these for a customer and their credit card was declined. If there's anyone interested in upgrading and installing one of these turbos by the weekend please call me directly at 704-575-0787 or order it online. This turbo is currently on sale at $799 ($50 off) and will support up to 500 HP.
