I'm trying to get settled with a turbo for my 2.4L build, and I can't decide. I'm running eagle rods so I'm not trying to go crazy, but I want something that I can get in the 600's with without having to max it out. I chose a T-61 to a GT40 compressor wheel because it seems like it'll fit better with a higher altitude. I've got a tubular t4 manifold and 3" v-band downpipe already so don't recommend a T3/T67. Do you think a T67 with a T4 .68 a/r housing would be way too big, as long as I can get 15psi or so by 4,000 I'm fine, or 30-35 psi between 5000-5200. It's a 2.4L, wiseco 8.7:1., eagle rods. Probably Fp3 cams.
 
A t67 like you describe wshould meet your spool up requirements, especially if you get a DBB version. A 61 would probably be more fun though. You could also look into a pt63, as it will be more reponsive than the 67 but still do close to 700whp (680ish).
 
Hell I thought about doing a gt30r because of the wicked spool, but I passed LOL. I've never even felt 500whp so I don't know if I'd even want 600whp ya know?
 
We have 636 whp now. Its plenty fast. But not fast enough just yet. GT42 is now on deck. This was with a SCM61

Thanks Steven, but you and Ron are speed freaks. The SC61 sounds like a perfect unit for my set-up, but on some threads people were recommending the t-61 over the sc61, even though they are both 65lb./min. Does anyone know where I can get a p-trim sc61 (full t4) at a good price?
 
Why not go with a FP 3065, or 3575? The spool is insaine and they flow just as much CFM or more. I love mine, with a 2.3, ported head, Crower stage 3's, and 1mm O/S valves. Starts to spool aroun 3,400 and full boos buy 4K!!!
