Swaping in a new engine...

Hey guys, i just found a engine out of a 1992.5. or at least i believe what it is. It has the 2.0 N/T but it has a cyclone intake manifold on it. So i am guessing this is a 6 bolt block. Will this all swap into my car without any problems? My car is a 94 N/T with a 2.0 5-speed. And also this other car is an automatic trans... if that matters. Is there anything that i need? Thanks

If the engine is a 6 bolt you will need to get a 6 bolt nt flywheel. Also, you will have to pull the torque converter alignment cup from the crank to mount the flywheel.

Check the oil pan to see if it is a 6 or 7 bolt motor.

If it's a later 92, I'd bet it on being a 7 bolt. What's wrong with your engine? In my opinion 7-bolts are nothing to be scared of. Yeah the 6 bolt engines have stronger rods stock, but if you're going to spend money anyways...

My car still has the 7 bolt and I have no complaints.

You can control them with a solenoid with some EPROM modding if you have an EPROM ecu.

Nah im non turbo so no EPROM. Its not a cyclone turbo intake. Its just a plain old cyclone intake on a non turbo.

I checked the engine out, it is a 7 bolt.

Grease method? How does that work?

There are some non turbo Eprom ecu's out there. AFAIK the NT cyclone IM did not have the butterflies and dual runners.
The grease trick, pack the end of the crank full of grease and make a packing rod that just fits into the cup. Packing the grease into the crank end with a lot of force forces the alignment piece out.

Grab the cup with a large pair of vise grips than tap the vice grips with a hammer, it should come right out. Had to do that with my 4G64.
