Hi guys,
a couple of months ago my good old engine took a nice litle crap on me and for at least 4 months im having to drive my wifes litle lancer to work LOL
Anyway I am reading alot of good things about the 2.4l engines and am looking at the slowboy racing 4g64 setup. However, i never did anything to my car as far as tuning so its all stock. I might get the DSMLink ASAP but i have the money to get the motor now. Is it a bad idea to just get the 4g64 and put it in (i havent done this before but have freinds who did) and just put the old stock turbo from my car on it and upgrade fuel system, intak, exhaust, and all that good stuff as i go along?
Because I either get the new motor in it and get it running again or i have to get me another car and spend the money that way. I thought that just putting in the motor will be fine but im also not 100% sure. Before I get flamed or anything, this is not a "i want to make a 10second care without supporting mods" kinda question or anything. Just wondering if i need any supporting mods to run the 4g64 with stock turbo and all.
THX

I dont see why you couldn't just put the motor in, but I don't have any experience with a 2.4. You are probably going to do a lot of burning out with FWD and a T25 so beware. I think you might be better off with maybe a built 2.0.

Yeah I first wanted to just tune my stock engine and drive it till it walks on me if it ever does LOL but now that its all busted up after my serpentin belt ripped and i didnt know the water pump wasnt working (LOL long story)
I might just skip the 2.0 and start learning on the 2.4l. I mean I will go into tuning it but first i'll get the DSMLink so i can mess arround with that and then I might get one of those sensors (i forgot what they are called) that you just put in the car and it can tell you the cars hp/torque 1/4mile time and all that good stuff so i can actually see what effects i will have on the car LOL
Just putting the 2.4 in the car with stock everything is really going to be that much of a difference? When i first got my gst i didnt know it was the "turbo version" of the eclipse and i had never driven turbo cars before so that was a diff like night and day but it seems like I really got used to it cause the car just doesnt "feel" so incredible fast anymore and now my wifes lancer ES feels like a lawnmover LOL
