Why are you guys trying?

I work alongside techs that came from UTI, they are just as useless as techs from MTTI in my area. Schooling does nothing for you in the automotive field, you can walk out of there with top grades, but the moment you walk into a garage on live cars, you realize that just because you know how a braking system works, doesn't mean you know the intricate ways to get that brake power boost off. The only thing that matters in automotive is experience, and your little UTI certificate means nothing. You paid 32,000.00 for that piece of paper, I paid 11,000 for one from my local technical school. I also have 9 years of shop experience on my side, want to see who knows more, you or me?

The moment you brought up supercharged RSXs was the moment you lost any sort of credibility you had left. That would be the same supercharged car that was on Pinks once? Runs a high 14 stock, low 15 for a bad driver? Yeah that supercharged RSX I saw on pinks, I remember it well. He ran a 14.9 supercharged...a lot of good that thing did him.
 
it was an example of something ive seen all over youtube. to you i may have no creditibility. seeing as it is now a team project i have all of the tools and smarts to do it. it will be a strocker and will do better than 14's. by real deal i mean a big supercharger. ive found a bathurst supercharger from a holden. i dont know specs on it yet. im tryin to find their website. ill assure you i know what im getting into. i dont know why you all think youre smarter than me.
 
Because we all know that a supercharged 4 cylinder is a colossal waste. Even Chevy got smart and switched from a supercharged platform on the Cobalt SS to a turbocharged.
 
Ever one hates on the idea but you can do if for around 1500$. If you search I posted a thread a while back on supercharging the 420a (Ill post the link). It has parts that you will need. I have not updated it in awhile due to im still on deployment and can not touch my parts(Ill add the ones not listed) .

To start get a m90 off of a thunderbird. They are made to be intercooled and will help with the placement. If you build a manifold kinda like an All motor mike intake it will give you a good gap to mount the s/c. Make brackets to hold the s/c in place (not connected to the intake). Get a fmic or smic along with a wastegate, BOV, and lots of piping. The s/c off of the t-bird faces up to run piping to the intercooler. Place the wastegate a little bit before the inlet on the intercooler. Then run your outlet pipe to the intake. Take a look a a t-bird with the s/c on the motor and it will help to give you a picture as well.

It will look pretty much like a turbo set up but with a supercharger. People will say that the wastegate and bov are not needed but with all the hours of searching I have done it has been proven to have better results to run it this way. If you look up a centrifugal supercharger you will get an idea of what I am talking about. I know they are 2 different types and work different but have the same theory of operation.

You maybe able to run a 12-1 fmu with this setup but I would run ms for tuning (that is what I have setup). Also this is if you are running 8-10 psi.

I know what I said was "negative", but I don't think he truly understands how little of a gain he'll get and how much money he'll be wasting, I mean spending.
 
Agreed... we are trying to help and show reason for our thinking. I understand responces need to be helpful.. but so should the orginal posts. Perhaps, just an idea.. if 1/4 of the time spent policing threads for bad grammer was spent on, lets say, locking retarded posts b.c they have been beat to death.. then you may see this sorta thing not happen at all. Just an idea.

If this was coverd before, then it should have neen locked asap.. and Op should have been told to search.

Make a forum called hopes, dreams and dum ideas. Where we can discuss things like this/ fall in that catagory without messin up the real tech forums. Just ideas. Im an ideas man...and probably a warned man LOL.
