So this winter i pulled my head off my car because of a noise in my head(i thought) found damaged pistons from something passing though the motor. but i also found that my oil pump was about to seize up so it was a good catch because it saved my rotating assembly on my stroker motor. ended up replacing 2 pistons and had to replace the block because my cylinders were too far out of spec to stay .020 over. i bought the GSC race shaft hoping to fix the oil pump issue from the first build. I also wanted to run strait cut gears on my 6 bolt. the existing gears are helical but can i just run the strait cut gears in the same case as long as its a 6bolt?

You can run straight cut gears in a 7-bolt case too, doesn't matter. It's actually preferable that you do run straight cut gears if you've done a BS delete.

Ive read that straight cut cases differ from helical but i installed new oem straight cut gears in my acl oil pump( orig. helical) and all the measurements were in spec.

+1.

I've heard it said the gears can't be swapped between cases, but I've done it many times without issue. I always run the straight cut gears in my pumps. Just ensure the pump specs out according the the manual if you swap any components.
