I dont know if the cover for the gears on the front case is suppose to have a gasket in between. Can someone let me know. I have a gasket for the front case but not sure if the cover to the gears is suppose to. Can you guys let me know asap. Thanks.

No. On the front case, you have the big gasket that goes between the case and the block and you have the gasket for the OFH.

The small cover on the back of the case that holds the oil pump gears in does NOT require a gasket. Don't put any RTV or anything there. Simply torque the bolts to 14 ft-lb and use a couple drops of blue threadlock to each bolt.

MAKE SURE you pack the gears with a ton of Moly grease...and pack that back cover as well. If you tighten the bolts down and Moly squishes out, that's fine...that's what you want. This will keep the engine primed once you install the case.

Okay sounds good. I do have the ofh gasket already. I know I will pack the gears with vaseline for priming the oil pump. Does it matter if I use vaseline or multi purpose super white grease? Also do I fill that whole cavity of the case where the gears are or just the gears? Same on the back cover do I fill that whole sucker, the whole cavity or just where metal to metal will be. Thanks.

Don't use Vaseline....use Moly. You can pick up a tub of pure Moly grease from Autozone for about $3. Comes in a black tub...that's where I got mine...the grease is black. Don't use multi-purpose grease or wheel bearing grease.

Use Moly grease because it is made for high pressure and will keep the pump primed.

Pack the ENTIRE thing. Fill the whole cavity where the gears are, full that small back cover where there is space...you can even turn the gears and let the grease go into the oil passages and fill the cavity back up. Then once you install and you're ready to prime the engine, it'll make things a lot easier on you.

Unfortunately I already used vaseline before you responded. I might redo it because I might have used too much copper spray andif I do I will do as you ststed.
