I currently have the Koyo Steering Rack and it is leaking pretty bad. I have searched aimlessly for a decent replacement. All I can find is the A1Cardone one for 220. In order to completely rebuild the Koyo it will cost 295, including seals and inner and outer tie rods. I know this part is not performance, so the koyo name may not make a difference, but that is why I would like everyone's opinion. Also is there any other brands out there besides the A1 for 220.

Thanks

RockAuto has an ATSCO. It's a little more than the A1 but you also have to consider that unless its a factory part, the chances are that it's a remanufactured unit. So it's really if you want someone to do the labor for you.
I've seen rebuild kits from 75-100 bucks. For ME, If I had the money i'd buy a remaned unit. Generally your old unit will need inner tie rods and those are replaced in the new unit. So, that saves you some money PLUS, they're a PITA to work on.
Luck!

My steering rack was leaking bad and I used the Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak and it stopped it completely..When the reservoir is low, refill it with the Lucus till the leak stops..
It comes in a 12oz. white bottle and I only needed half of it..At this point you have nothing to lose by using this....
Mine hasn't leak again for going on three years now and its my daily driver..

I always use remanufactured steering racks on customers cars. I'm pretty sure Mitsubishi stopped making new P/S racks for your car, but you can still get a manual one new for $802 MSRP.

The advantage about the reman is the lifetime warranty. In my experience 2 out of 10 come back leaking at some point, so it's worth it; and like crazy said, it comes with inner tie rods.

Tried that but it did not work :( I may try to put a little more in, that stuff is THICK!!

Thanks for the other advice everyone, guess I will buy the reman one then, it will save me about 50 and I wont have to take it apart!!! :rocks:
