I don't exactly have 500$ to drop on a brand name clutch right now and don't wanna go to a oem cuz imma just break that one loose like this one. My clutch seems to be slipping Imma guess... But it don't seem to have any balls behind it and rpms are rising alot higher then I'm moving and when I'm crusing in 5th it wants to randomly jump up 1k and set back down... Mainly 3k to 4k is this a good clutch to go with or...

Xtd might be some cheap ebay part, but they work amazingly well for the price. I would have no qualms using one when on a budget. OEM tob is a must for all clutch kits on a dsm but, I'm unsure if it holds true for the 420a.

I have used XTD no complaints. But definitely do your research if you not willing to take any advice!!!!!
I've read feeds all day about it but they where like 4 years old I just wanted to see where it stand now ... Sorry for asking questions -_- not being spoon fed just asking about things isnt that what this is for ?

As an FYI to the original post, you linked to a modular clutch assembly for a 420a non-turbo motor.

By your profile it looks like you have a 420a non-turbo application.

With that mentioned (at least you should have mentioned that), I would recommend the following choices:

An Exedy 05085 modular clutch assembly (OEM / Organic disk) would be around $330.00.
A South Bend Clutch K70131-HD modular clutch assembly (OEM / Organic disk) would be around $370.00.

If you want as cheap as possible, then the Ebay link you mentioned is just that.

If you are looking for a quality 4G63 clutch assembly, then I would recommend the following:

The cheapest, most cost effective GOOD clutch I could recommend would be a Competition Clutch Stage #3 full face ceramic disk clutch with 2700# pressure plate.

That would run you ~$345.00. Competition Clutch 5048-2600

Or an Exedy 05950 which is ~$440; that is a 3-puck ceramic disk and can hold around 400TQ @ wheels.

If you want even cheaper, then an Exedy Stage #1 organic disk 05800 is ~$400
If you want even cheaper, then an Exedy OEM replacement 05048 is ~$200

Most of the eBay clutch use similar pressure plates, discs are another story. I have used a couple f1 racing clutches and have no complaints. I have a stage two in my car right now, so we'll see how I holds up. My mazda and camaro before that both had the same clutch and both put up with alot of abuse and hard launches, never have given me a problem (nor the new owner of the camaro AFAIS)

I think it all comes down to the driver. Ive seen name brand clutches eat it, and cheap clutches perform exceptionally. Bastard has put alot of power through his xtd setups so that's good proof that as long as it's set up right, they can work great.

Personally my next clutch will probably be a southbound tho

I'm a turbo 420a?

You are a 420a motor. I don't care if you have a turbo on it or not, but you are using a F5MC1 / A578 / T350 Neon transmission with a modular clutch assembly on it. The clutches are completely different than a 4G63 application clutch with a F5M33 or W5M33 transmission.
