Hello all! I am new to the forums and new to DSM's in general. I am a 1g Probe fanatic whos perspective has changed since I bought my 92 Talon TSi AWD Turbo (vroom vroom). To start, my goal with this car is to keep the mods as respctable as possible, which to me means that I have absolutely no plans to add a 30psi turbo and blow my motor. Anyways, on to the question...

On my Probe, I was extremely satisfied in my Exedy stage 2 racing clutch, and am looking to have the same with my Talon (it needs a new clutch anyways... keeps slipping hard when in high rpm's). I have looked through the marketplace here and have googled my fingers blue for a respectable clutch that wont kill my wallet. I heard that ACT was definitely not the brand of clutch that I wanted, and that I should stay with my Exedy, but as I said, I have yet to find a good price on one. Can anyone suggest a model and a place where I can get a good price on one? Thanks in advance!

I personaly have a Stage 2 Comp Clutch and a lightened Fidanza flywheel and love it. I got the clutch from maperformance and the flywheel was off of ebay. I have about 6 or 7000 miles on the setup and couldn't be happier.

I have an exedy stage 1, decent clutch supposed to hold 340lbs of tq. Lots of guys on here use ACT without problems, but I wanted to go a different route. Also fidanza clutches seem to be pretty nice, just stay away from the one with a sprung hub. Also check out this thread, http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/244529-aimco-clutch-xtd-racing-stage-4-a.html .

Do you mind having a heavy clutch?

Nope, don't mind a heavy clutch at all, just need to try and save as cash as possible as I have already dumped a ton of money in mindless parts into this car... DSM thing I suppose. Thanks for the reply. Any more suggestions are appreciated

PM sent.

I have an ACT and no problem... Use 2100 or 2600 PP and 6 puck sprung hub/if you drive a lot and, or in traffic... I have it on my car and I DO NOT feel the difference, between street disk and 6PUCK SPRUNG disk, only in how it holds power/6puck wins/...If not , I heard they released a new STREET UNSPRUND DISK, yes this is correct, but it seems New product and not so many people have used it so far...
