Hey guys. I've read up on what people thought of the two clutches, and now I'm trying to decide for my own car. I don't plan on going any bigger than the 14b, but I plan on pushing it into the 12's, like a lot of guys have done. I'm wondering if I should get the stage 2 or stage 3 though basically. This car is going to be daily driven, and maybe see the track occasionally. I just want a reliable daily driver that won't be too hard to drive with whichever clutch I get. What do you guys think I should do? Thanks.

I bought my car with the act2100 in it already. But if I had my choice itd be act2600..

Why slip, when you can GRIP....

ACT2600 all the way. :rocks:

ACT2600 is one hell of a clutch...

More than half the kids you ask on the street, "kinda clutch you got?" they gonna say 2100 or 2600.

Its a beautiful street clutch, for speed, and pressure holding.

Regardless, I asked which of the two I chose would be better for my set up. I DO NOT want an ACT 2600. Thanks for your input though. Yeah, I'd trust the kids on the street for which clutch I'd pick. Haha. Sorry, just sounded funny.

I have the 2100 and I am happy with it. I think it would suite your needs well if you got it.

Question is not about reaching your goals both will its more about how much do you drag the car? If you run 2-3 runs you can get a spec 2 if you want to launch like 4-7 times you want a heavier clutch... Being AWD you prob want a heavier clutch but for daily driving its kinda a biatch.

so decide from those words what you want.

You never want to base a clutch off of what "stage" it is. Clutch's are based on how many lbs. the pressure plate is. Any brand that lists there clutches by stage will usually have about a 1500-1800lbs. pressure plate. Not near enough holding power. For what you are looking to do an ACT 2100 would be fine. You could use a 2600 but it's just personal prefference on how stiff you want it to feel. I ran easily into the 12's with my 2g GST I used to have on an ACT 2100 and slipped it many a times and it always held. A 2100 would be plenty for you though.

Im trying to tell you man, when it comes to holding ACT is one of the most respectable clutch upgrades for these cars.

But offcourse the choice is yours, were just giving you input.

I appreciate everybody's suggestions, but I've already stated that I don't want an ACT clutch. I've researched a little bit on both the stage 2 and 3, and I just wanted to hear some opinions. I guess I shouldn't have posted in the newbie forum...

i say go with the stage 3 spec clutch. i have one in my car, and it is great, i love it. i have the kevlar street disc and it's great for the street. i havent taken it to the track yet but i hope to very soon. my vote is for the spec stage 3 clutch kit.

good choice :thumb: u won't be dissappointed, i love my clutch, and im sure u will love urs too. now im gettin a fidanza flywheel so hopefully i will enjoy it that much more :D

that's what i did, stage 2 and 3 were the same price, hey might as well get the upgrade for the same price. but now i hear that the stage 3+ is the same or 50 bucks more than the stage 3. not bad, if i didnt already have a stage 3 i would get the 3+

for all the folks who bombarded me with questions asking if they can get a Stage 3+ disc from their current stage 3...... you cannot just change the disc. the Pressure plate on the 3+ is thicker and heavier so the 3+ disc is not interchangeable.

okay, i will be the first to admit, i was one of the ones that bombarded you with that very question, so i guess i will just be happy with what i got. thanks anyway for answering the question though. that was pretty quick too i might add

your probably better off with the stage three just because it can handle more. some things to consider are: pedal pressure, noise, and stress that it puts onto other parts. such as T/O bearing and shift fork. i personally would do a twin disc quarter master. clutch pedal feels almost like stock. not to hate, but i'd definitely wouldn't do an ACT. sometimes a heavier clutch will bend and/or break the shift fork. good luck. :thumb:

I would get a stage 3+ or a mcleod sintered iron system.

I have the mcleod sintered and just put a 3+ in a friends car..

The 3+ is SPECs formula of a feramic material.

He has just a EVO B16g so powerhandling and launch is hard to compare to my rig but I can tell you is that driving it post install that it kicks a ACT's ass in....

As for the Mcleod

I am a little leary of marcel disks in my rig now and with some AWD manual exp the damper springs on the hub are enough w/o marcel.. For me atleast.. The disk portion is a stout steel plate with sintered iron sintered right to the disk... No rivets to worry about holding the friction to the disk or marcel ring shattering.

I like both clutches...
