This will be the 12th one I've installed... I got itDude, make sure you be very careful when evacuating the line set.. make sure it holds a vacuum.. those are very picky about refrigerant charge because it’s a heat pump, but when they work, THEY WORK..!!!

My garage is only 18x22, 12k btu is plenty. Our shop is 60x100 with 20' ceiling*about 20x40 in one end is blocked off for office space), it's heated almost solely with a single 48k btu unit, it's able to keep up until to gets down below 0F at which point we have a propane furnace to help it out.Jason, how many sq ft are you heating/cooling? I would love to have a mini split but probably need 2 (one on both ends of my 30x40 shop). One thing keeping me from going ahead is the TRENCH I would have do dig across my circle drive and I really don't want to do that. The shop is 100' from my house, nearest connection for gas unless I went all electric. My 220 A/C unit suks about $100 in 2-3 daysso we rarely use it.
Thanks!
Marty
And yes I installed these too, about 5 years ago.

Currently 28F out, shop is a balmy 66F and I can manage it remotely.
Our electric for the shop went up about $700 a year but we're using over $2000 less in propane. Also keep in mind the shop is now never over 70 in the heat of summer

These things are by far the most energy cost effective way to heat most spaces in most climates.
