Hotwheels display cabinet with glass doors. Most of these are 90's - early 2000's. I want another identical cabinet with just 60's-80's, that collection has already been started.

Do you have some "redline" wheel hotwheels Solomon? :) The ones I used to play with when I was little were ALL redline cars and now I can't find any of them. They were even in a "Hotwheels" case that looked like a wheel.
Your collection looks SWEET!

I only have a couple of those. People seem to ask a fortune for them now. I actually used to have the wheel shaped carry case, but it's been so many years I don't remember what happened to it. I'm pretty sure it got lost in a tornado of 2011 that destroyed storage of my oldest possessions. The earliest Hotwheel I can locate right now is the 1967 Moon Maiden.

Bought another shit box Ford for 1000 bucks for a winter beater opposed to using the donor dsm, car runs great but I’d rather start getting the engine into my 1gb and it had too much going on that I don’t feel like dealing with, and also don’t drive my Ranger in the salt (except for this freak snow we got here November 1st that didn’t stick to anything yet they proceeded to blast salt everywhere). Felt ridiculous deep cleaning a car with no rockers left and more rust on the underside than the Titanic but it had mold growing on it from sitting and the inside was nasty and I couldn’t live with that. New headlight from pull a part this weekend and a few zip ties on the bumper and it’ll be plenty good enough for a few months.

Not a bad deal. Love the HELP!! ❤️

They are great help at that! Used this shitbox to teach the 7 year old how to run the hand polisher, 10 year old was over the whole operation after 10 minutes and went back in, the littlest one was out with us for a while but apparently sounds of the shop vac made her sleepy, the 7 and 4 year old were into it!

It's 4G63 powered, but not a DSM. I determined my low oil pressure was due to the 2G piston oil squirters, so I'm replacing them without removing the head. Some careful work with a slide hammer and the right attachement, and they come right out. I'm hoping to order parts during a Black Friday sale to maybe save a few dollars. If not, I've budgetted for bearings and associated parts.

One of the worst bearings. Still not terrible and the crank just needs a polish, but it was definitely causing wear and some junk went through it. Any idea why there is wear near the tab on the bearing? It was present on more than one rod.

I actually had intentions on working on my DSM today, however plans changed.

I went into work for a few hours this morning. Ran to town to grab some groceries. While in town wanted to run out to my friends shop to give him some fittings he has asked me to get for him.

I walk in and he was like, "You're just the person I was wanting to see." I was confused, and asked what was up.

Long story short after helping with a few other things I built some new fuel lines for his 800 horsepower Supra.

I started on welding up a few pinholes in my exhaust on my Lancer. Due to some confined spaces I ditched my welding hood for a moment and used my safety squints for a few welds.

Was seeing some spots so I decided to take a break and get some lunch. While I'm eating I see a random truck pull in front of the house and a guy get out and start looking around. I stepped outside to see what he needed.

He wanted to check out my 3000gt. He said I drive by all the time and see it. It's just so beautiful. I gave him some history on it, popped the hood and started it. He just kept complimenting it, then shook my hand, thanked me for my time, and headed down the road.

The project of a basement continues... scraping away the popcorn texture ceiling (how outdated). What a mess this stuff makes. Soon will be time for mudding/sanding/painting. Next steps are trim, door frames, walls, updated electrical, and at some point I'll get some carpet laid down.

I still haven't decided what to even use this room for, but I know it's going to look nice before I use it for anything.

I've got to remove the popcorn too before we sell the Colorado home.

From what I've read you want to wet it down and use a bigger scraper or just break down and get a power sander made for the job.
Wetting it is definitely the trick. For the first 25 square feet or so, I was just on a ladder using testosterone and a scraper. After that painful experience I started using a water sprayer and mounted the scraper on the end of a pole to eliminate the ladder. So much easier. It's no longer coming off as powder, but larger sheets peeling at once.

I didn't even consider sanding it off. I do have a power sander with vacuum attachment though. The ceiling is too large to sand by hand after I mud.

Oh, I believe it. My entire home is popcorn ceiling and I'm only scraping the ones that have began to peel. Which seems to only be the basement, due to drainage issues outside that let moisture inside. I had to dig a 4 ft deep ditch along the outside wall and install a French drain along with plastic sheets and black tar before I even touched this room.

Found that my basement ceiling fan was just screwed into the sheet rock. No box. What the hell. I guess I'll just get rid of it, there were already 3 ceiling boxes so it's very strange.

I took the week off of work to burn some PTO and I have worked harder the last two days than I would have all week at work.

Yesterday I planned to mess with the Talon, but got a call from one of the ladies I work with and she asked if I'd be willing to do an alternator on her car. I got some prices, texted her a quote, she called me and let me know what she wanted. I ordered the alternator, then as I was about to leave to pick it up she calls me back and says her husband had already taken the car to a shop. No big deal.

All while working on her quote my buddy texted me about getting him some hydraulic lines made for his dump truck. I told him I was heading to town shortly, and if he had them off I'd pick them up and run them to the hose shop. It was a nightmare trying to get them off. I didn't even leave the shop til 430 and I still had to get home to make some food to get ready for bowling.

While I'm at bowling, same buddy texted me and said the fuel lines I made for the Supra (from a few of my posts back) were leaking everywhere and asked if I could bring some of my fittings out when I brought the hydraulic hoses out today (Tuesday)

Get up this morning, go get the hydraulic hoses made, load up some other stuff and head to the shop about 1130. Due to a mix up when hooking the hoses up on the dump truck I took a ATF shower. Got that cleaned up, got the hoses on right, finished up the dump, then finally got started on the Supra.

We figured out the problem. He said he had made some lines for his racecar out of the same hose I used for the Supra and had leaks and just assumed he did something wrong. When my hoses I made leaked he figured it had to be something with the hoses/fittings. After some tests that was confirmed. Made a new feed line out of the regular stuff I normally use and no more leaks. I took a bath in E85 too when pulling the bad feed line out.

Finally left the shop at 9:00. Probably going back out tomorrow. If the roads dry up I'll take the 3000GT out to get it inspected.

Another day at the shop. Helped finish up a MF job doing rear wheel bearings on a Subaru Impreza. Assisted a little on a brake job on a F250, and remade the last feed line on the Supra.

It's leak free. The Subaru is off the rack, the dump truck is moved, and the F250 was done. Shop was emptied when we left, ready for another round of projects in a few days.

Will probably end up actually doping DSM work tomorrow.

Went back out to my buddy's shop today to get the 3000GT inspected. While out there wasn't really helping, but went for a ride in a Plymouth Scamp that he has been trying to figure out. After awhile he was like, "Hey, lets go for a ride in something that isn't a slow turd." And he fired up the Supra.

Part of the ride was to see if the new fuel lines helped. They definitely helped, but it was impossible to get a full pull in 900 hp in 35 degree temps on performance tires. It skated at the top of third LOL

I went to pay him for the inspection and he told me it was on the house for all the help I've given lately, so there's that.

Tomorrow, back on the DSM.
