How tight are they to the trailing arm and strut? How much do they stick out in the front? Right now my car is on 16x7.5 +32 with sumitomo htr 225/50/16 and they are really wide for a 225. I have some +43 wheels I want to put on it and I don't know if it will fit.

Somewhat close to the arms but wont rub. Nothing i'd be concerned about. Car is on coilovers which gives me plenty of room there.

The fronts stick out an inch. The rears are flush.

An Evo 3 IM seems small for this build. Do you think that's going to hurt you on the top end?

I mean, I've seen cars make ridiculous power on the Evo 3, but I haven't seen many drag cars built around that manifold.

The new wheels look legit!

Sweet love this car in person I'm gonna stop by I should be relocating to the area next year I'll let you know when I'm in the area. Already have one dsm buddy there always need more who appreciate these cars.

Since the car is only ever going to see a 62mm turbo for class racing, the Evo 3 matches up well. It's ported by Curt Brown. I also plan to keep it around as it gives me more torque lower in the powerband (something I need to get the car on the converter easier as its auto).

Sounds great!

How much clearance to the strut in the front?
I'll get under the car and look for you.

That's legal for FIS? I thought 62.9mm was the limit for awd auto's? What are they actually measuring The wheel or the housing bore?

Thanks for checking wheel/tire clearances!
You are correct. The S363 compressor wheel inducer actually measures to 62.99mm. The s362 measures to 61.44mm. I'm not sure how they measure, but the turbo will be legal. I do know they only measure if another racer protests.

You're welcome!

Realizing I have to build a stainless section of exhaust that goes from the turbo to my existing aluminum downpipe, I needed to get my stainless welding under control. I have only done aluminum and that's what I learned on.

The past few attempts I tried earlier this year, I had nothing but terrible results with over heating the weld. Turns out it was a gas coverage issue with a leak I found at the torch (wrong size insulator).

I fixed the leak and did some practicing yesterday using a Fupa 12 cup. This is with no backpurge, 3/32" blue tungsten, 1/16 308l filler. No backburging as I still need to order the dual regulator.

I'm hoping to get the car fired up by next week with the new turbo setup.

I have been watching this build from its inception I am doing a similar turbo setup only FWD awaiting your results before I order the same turbo is it ball-bearing

Got the turbo outlet finished. Waiting for my dual regulator to arrive so i can backpurge it before fully welding.

Oil lines, wastegates then radiator next.

Does anyone have a trick for lining up vband flanges that do not have the male lip/female slot like the vibrant pieces?

Turbo outlet finished. First stainless project was a success.

Backpurged. The crummy area's are where I did not backpurge when I was tacking it and did a small bead.

Went with a Jegs scrirocco style radiator. Both outlets are different sizes and neither match the stock hose size (both too large).... Probably going to do AN lines.

Going to build a shroud for the fan.

How the F do you have that much room for the radiator, I had a Mishimoto radiator only to find out it won't fit with my top mount set up only being hairs away LOL

Very nice! Love the black engine bay. I really need to learn how to weld. The possibilities!
Thanks man. Learning to weld was a big help for getting things done on this car.

If you look closely, I chopped the upper middle radiator support our of the car so I could mount the radiator closer to the FMIC. I run a smaller radiator so it fits.

Thanks I'll see if cutting mine will make a difference, I'd rather run a full size

A full size won't work in the area where the A/C condenser would sit sadly. It will sit too high and likely be too wide to fit in there.

If you're having cooling issues, i'd recommend
-Adding a plate to keep air from escaping from FMIC to RAD (This helped DRASTICALLY)
-Adding 2nd fan
-Wrapping your header/o2 housing
-Running less coolant and more water. Add Redline water wetter. 100% water with wetter is the best option, but obviously can't be done in winter.
-Drill a small hole in your thermostat
