I've been searching around alot to find base SAFC setting for evo injectors. I've seen -15%, -18%, -25%, basically I'm not getting a solid answer; everyone seems to have a different opinion. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the 560's about 24% larger than the stock 450's? meaning I would set my SAFC for -24%? If that's correct would it be a good idea to start a little richer than -24%, then tune leaner as i sort things out? Thanks for the help.....

do you have a wideband or a logger?? If not dont touch those afc settings until you can get to a dyno or install one of those two options. However, a safe number just to deal with the extra injector size would be -5%

You should try posting this in the tuning section, they can probably help you more. Also try the roadraceengeneering.com website. they have lots of tuning info for the safc. Hope that helps Winter

Mathematical correction for 560cc injectors is -19.6% to hit the factory AFR of 9.5:1. I would start a little richer just in case something goes wrong. Something around -15% should be fine.

The other thing you can do is set your FT's and then copy the Lo Throttle map over to the Hi Throttle map. That works too.

thanks, i'll give a try this weekend

I've never been able to get my FT's in line over months of moving numbers around, so don't get discouraged if yours aren't responsive. They stay at +5 to +12 regardless of what I do. I just use the afc to tune for WOT using a logger and call it good.

Save your self a lot of trouble and get a wbo2. It will help a lot and may save your motor if you accidently run lean.

I'm either getting a wideband or a fmic next, so its on the list

You really can't just judge your numbers or amount of correction based soley on mathematical difference in injectors or by comparison to another person with near the same mods. There's just too many variables in every engine that's put together to get things exactly right without actually tuning every car individually. This is one of the reasons factory ECU's have such extensive fuel trimming capabilities (aside form compensating for wear and sediment restricting the fuel system over time)

Use the AFC tuning tips on RRE's site to get the low throttle dilaed in. Then get a wide band O2 for setting the WOT areas. AFC's are a great tuning device for the person who only needs light modifications of the basic fuel curve, or the person who is new to tuning and doens't need all the bells and whistles of a more complicated system. And, even though they are pretty simple they are still very effective for the amount of signal change that they can safely interperate and the level of bolt on mods they can accomodate for.
