I just dyno my car on Dynodynamics, my engine specs on my profile..

1. I made 320hp, 250ftlb torque on dynodynamics.. Problem is when my boost at 19psi it make 315hp, when I up boost at 21psi it just increase 5hp.. Is there any problem with my turbo? Can exhaust leak or 02 housing leak effect my hp? I will try to post my dyno graph as I left it in workshop..

2. My spool at 2.9k and full boost 4.5k, is this normal? Can a 272 cam help earlier my full boost?

3. My s256 tag says it compR56, but I never hear that BEP come out with compR technology with s256..

4. I'm gonna try to up the boost again around 27-28psi, with my mods in my profile, do you think my engine will survive?

BTW, I really like this turbo compare to tdo5h, its really helps with my FWD traction issues :hellyeah:

cams will increase your upper rpm range power. if you are turning up boost i hope you are doing it at the shop where they are making fuel corrections as well. otherwise, you will be in trouble and could blow your motor.

S256 is quite capable but 320 seems kinda low for 21psi...who is doing the tuning? what kinda timing/knock/afr's are you running?

He did this on a Dyno Dynamics, or, "the heartbreaker dyno". Throw the car on a dyno-jet and he'd be near 400, which is good for such a low boost without cams.

OP just make sure you don't run out of fuel or knock and you should be able to get it dialed in for 27psi no problem :thumb:

I know a dyno dynamics reads lower than a dyno jet but I always knew of the mustang dyno to be the "heartbreaker dyno"?

of course I will tuning it back on dyno if I want to increase my boost

If u see my profile, I'm from malaysia, If u know where is it :hmm:

I will try to post my dyno ASAP so y'all can comment on it..

I was thinking the same thing. . . But remember he only gained 5hp going up from 19-21psi. . . Something else seams to be an issue if he goes on a dj and nets only 6-7 hp or even 10hp going from 19-21psi.

That turbo is designed to be more efficient in the 25+ PSI range. when you get above there, you will see a significant gain.

These turbos are designed to flow monstrous amounts of air. There was a HUGE difference from me @ 20 PSI to the now 30+ PSi.

Cams and a sheet metal intake would also help with large power increases. Double check the tune. I can't believe no one has asked what fuel he's on... soooo What fuel are you using??

at last, u see my main point.. Problem is, its only gain 5hp from 19psi to 21psi, what can cause this to happened? I forgot to tell you that my boost creep from 17psi to 21psi, I got Turbosmart MBC. Can this be related?

I use ron97, I guess same with yours 92-93octane...

Yeah thats what I'm thinking.. I'm going to try 25psi-30psi and see how much can I make.. And pray I will touch 400hp soon.. BTW, how much your HP? psi?, hope can make a benchmark, I'm so in love with this turbo :hellyeah:

This is my s256, but tag show compR56?

I'm not sure of HP... PSI is about 30-31 falling to 26 because of my internal gate.. good thing I got this tial here...

I hope my turbosmart 38mm wastegate will hold my boost when I increase my boost to 27-30psi.. :ohdamn:

dynodynamics is heartbreaker dyno too. If I compare to dynojet here in my country, maybe I can make 360-380hp :p

I know this thread is a month old, but I made 350whp at 23psi on a Dynodynamics and yet still trapped 117mph at that same boost on a 3300lb car at the track. That is a trap speed calculated 410whp. I think making 320whp at 21psi is fine, but I would be concerned if it isn't making more power as the boost is turned up. I was gaining about 15hp/ 1psi increase in boost pressure. Is it possible that you were just getting knock retard that was killing your hp at the higher boost level?

This is a pretty good thread to read. Yes, the tried and proven way to determine just how much power one's making rests in the trap speed. When you made the estimated 410whp, what fuel were you tuned with?
