yeah i am obsessed with fabrication and originality on dsms, and after reading that thread about all the work you did for rear porsche brakes i saved a pic of your car with a title: cayenne brakes.. i remember doing research on the evo steering wheel and i was told that it couldn't be done without a lot of custom work on a 2g, but that it would bolt up to a 3g..

I would feel much better attempting the S2000 cluster based on what YOU (the original) did. unless you didnt take pics and someone else did the full write up with step by step pictures.

did the tach/speedo work with out speed sensor of did you have to make/buy a convertor?

I like it. It kind of brings the dated Eclipse instrumentation back to a modern setup and the colors are stock as well. I don't care for the CF, but I guess if you aren't painting the hood then it goes with that. I think the steering wheel is out of place because nothing matches. IMHO you could update your interior because that grey sucks (stupid mitsu). Black it out and use some more brushed aluminum looking accents (like the steering wheel) and it will look great (like it should have come from the factory. Good work with the custom fabrication.

As for the getting the cluster to work, did you guys go off of the pins and that's it? Seems pretty straightforward if that is all.

Sorry im not going to do step by step the instructions, just a few wiring details.

As for the interior im happy with how it is, its subtle. The grey on the steering wheel matches the grey on the sparco adjustment spots. The black on the steering wheel matches the black components in the dash and also the stereo/heating controls. The carbon fiber dash matches the carbon fiber headliner. Im happy with the flow in the car.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion though!

I had another suggestions from a fella to 'black it out' but ive seen it and im not at all a fan of it. Difference here in canada is we have 1/100 of the eclipses that you guys have, so the car is actually reallly rare and a perfect grey interior suits me just fine.

If he doesnt want to give details that is his right. he obviously worked pretty hard on it, and it required some actual thought. something which many people here lack. it always bugged me that people here need to be hand feed everything. modding cars is not supposed to be easy. engineers designed them and engineers should modify them too.

while where at it lets all email ams and slowboy. maybe they will give away all the specs for their manifolds so we can go make our own.

this thread reminds me of the one where this guy made a full rear l.e.d. tail light conversion for a 2g and didnt really share much. In my opinion these guys dont really do much for the community as a whole. but i do like your car and i love those brakes! thanks for at least posting pictures. if i had enough time to sit down and do something like that i wouldnt do a write up or make it that easy to copy me!

Gray interior = no love

I have to add, white 99 AWD 2g's with the all back interior are the nicest cars I have ever seen next to the (black) black/tan interior cars. They have got to be very rare.

funny though you do mention that you would post instructions in the other thread.

It sounds like "closed" forums like dsmLink have more knowledgeable people, there most be some benefits to belonging to one. Wish I had the link, Ill have to look into that sometime.

Ok, all joking aside. I think a lot of people wanted you to just post a few little tips up on this thread. I wouldn't want to bug you with pm's asking you ?s but if that's how you want to do it, more power to you. BTW, it was a very, very good and custom job.
