Ok i bought this talon about 8 months ago with a weird knock.. the other day i decided i would go and find out what it is... turns out it was a Rod bearing i dropped the pan and the one closest to the pulleys was loose i could wiggle it around.. so i called autozone and got a new bearing... the one the came out was alot wider than the one that i got from autozone... it is possible that they gave me the wrong one?.. anyways i put assembly lube on both sides of the bearing which i now know is Wrong.. only the side that touches the crank anyways there still is a little knock... not even remotley close to as bad as it was.. i was thinking that i need to get one size up .25mm or somthing like that and this should fix it? what do u think... Also the bearing they gave me had no oil holes in it? i thought it was suposed to i looked at napa and the bearing they gave me looks like one for a chrysler motor and the one that came out looks like the one for the mitsu? im confused ohh the car is a 95 Talon N/A..... Any help would be greatly aprreciated?!:talon:

Rules are rules. No bumping. You really should give longer than 8hours for someone to reply to your question. Taking time to think it out, use proper punctuation always helps as well!

If you've got rod knock, you might as well bite the bullet, and pull the motor. I have no idea what bearing you've gotten, but a 2g non turbo is a 2g non turbo. They all have the 420A motor.

If you go and buy a .25oversize bearing, or any other you are risking the chance of doing further damage. Without the proper bearing clearance, you are just going to throw the rod again, or worse seize the rod to the crank and possibly send it through the side of the block.

You CANNOT skimp out on the bottom end, it just doesn't work. Clearances are set, and they need to be within that range, or you are just asking for trouble.

My advice is find a replacement motor, or pull the existing one and rebuild it (Or have someone that can if you aren't sure what you are doing.)

yea tru... anyways i got the right bearing today and put it in and all is well... now i can get rid of this car:talon: :notgood: and go back to my v-8 Roots:thumb: ... thanx to all who helped get this POS Running agian so i could sell it :tease: :talon:
