ECMlink Running lean at WOT, don't matter what i do please help

It doesn't matter how much I adjust MAFCOM, I'm still runnin lean. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Any help will be MUCH appreciated.

Why is the fuel tab not accessible in your ecu config? it doesn't even show when I'm looking at your log.

What's your target AFR? Whatever it is, I would start by trying to get your actual AFR and AFRatioEst to match as closely as possible.

As Robert mentioned, if you want feedback from the guys who really know their stuff around here, you need to follow the instructions in the thread he pointed to. Otherwise, the knowledgeable guys, like Calan and others who are very well versed in ECMlink, will just skip over the thread and not waste time asking for details that the sticky thread tells you to post. If you want people to take the time to help, do the stuff they're asking you to do first.

I've had a few different problems that cause this same issue in the past. First problem I encountered that caused this problem was a torn diaphragm in my Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. I wouldn't allow the regulator to raise fuel pressure at a 1:1 ratio with boost. I've also had the bolts that hold the top of regulator down loosen up and cause it to leak. The next problem I faced that caused this problem was a bad Walbro 255 fuel pump. With the dying fuel pump I would noticed on occasion it would kind of make a squealing noise at random times. Another thing I noticed was it didn't start to run lean until I made a few hard pulls and the fuel pump started getting hot. You should also check the o-ring that connects to the fuel pump sending unit. If that leaks you will lose fuel pressure under boost causing a lean situation as well.

This is an issues with the software install on your computer. Go download the full install, run it, and then do the early access install. This should fix the issue.

His MaxOct table is targeting 11.2 AFR at WOT.


OP, is your fuel pump rewired or are you still on factory wiring? Next time you log, add the Battery value to your captured/displayed values lists and see what your voltage is doing.

Based on those two logs, it looks like your airflow tuning is off. I've included a new settings file that I changed the MAF Comp sliders to hopefully pull your AFR up and get your wideband lined up much closer to your AFRatioEst. Let me know how it does.

Does it matter that the box is checked next to the "Disable MAF compensation w/SD operation?" Could that be the reason why none of his mafcomp adjustments didn't seem to do anything?

The box that is checked comes that way by default. It's a safety thing so that if someone dials in their VE table using the MAF Comp wizard, they don't inadvertently apply two different airflow corrections when they switch over to SD. The ECU will use both MAF Comp sliders and VE table if that box is not checked.

Since he as 2g MAF selected in the MAF Comp screen as his source, it doesn't matter if the box is checked or not - it won't affect anything. This is only taken into account when the source is Speed Density.

Looks much better. You've still got some airflow tuning to do, as you can see your AFRatioEst and wideband lines don't match up perfectly. Tuning a MAS is easy - look at WBFactor and adjust appropriate MAF Comp slider (based on current MAFRaw Hz level) that amount and in that direction.

I'd also suggest adding Battery to your captured/logged values (as mentioned before) to see what your voltage is doing during WOT. It could be dropping and not allowing your pump to get adequate voltage. Or you could just go ahead and rewire the pump anyway and not have to worry about it

I'm going to go ahead and rewire, but do you think that much adjustment on MAFCOM looks right or u think my pump is on its way out? I'm only running about 23 psi of boost.

I'm just slightly confused that the previous pulls indicated a ton of MAF Comp correction (as you can see in the file I uploaded), but the latest pull you posted only indicate a slight correction (10% or less). I would make the corrections needed based on your latest pull and get AFRatioEst and your wideband lined up and see how your AFR looks. It looks like you can get your AFR in check once you adjust it based on how close it is to your MaxOct table.

That pump should handle that much boost without being rewired, but it can't hurt.

The one thing you'll have to look into is around 4k RPM there was a big lean spike in the log you posted. Even though you already added some fuel via the MAF Comp sliders, it was still asking for about 30% more adjustment. Keep an eye on that area as you progress through tuning.

Your still not logging battery voltage for some reason?

41% and its still asking for 10% more around 2300Hz in your latest log. Your 21psi log at 2300Hz also asked for 10% more fuel when it was set to 0% so adding 41% seems to only super inflate your airflow readings and injector duty cycle numbers but doesn’t add any fuel.

Please calibrate your wideband as well while you're double checking things.

Speaking of that, where is your wideband in the exhaust track? I see the rear o2 input is being used - just want to make sure it's not behind a cat or something.

The problem seems to be a lack of fuel. Follow through with your fuel system check-up, the advice given by snowborder and for peats sake, log battery voltage. Let us know your results.

How much boost are you running on the last log, specifically at 5500 RPMs?

If you are on a stock 2G MAF, as it seems, then you should not need to calibrate near as much as you are. Im leaning towards dialing in the 1050s better than what ECMlink is suggesting. Very common.

Even after that it still seams too far out of whack. Is there anything that would cause you to NOT trust the wideband reading? Exhaust leak(s), bad sensor, etc?
