Hey,

So on my daily driver / winter car, I am debating giving it a bit more jam with a small 16g turbo, and a set of 550 or 650cc injectors (of course, all the other mods to go along with it.)

I am just curious if you guys think its worth it to run a burnt chip with my settings, then using an safc to adjust from there, or if I should just ditch the chip all together. I would get link as I already have it for my 91, but this is my daily driver, and I want to keep it as simple as possible.

If you already have link for your other car... what could be more simple than running the same thing to tune with on this one?

I have link and I think it's pretty simple...esp if you are only tuning for a s16g...

More simple than taking his ecu out and sending it in to link, waiting for it to come back, buying/installing another cable or switching cables out from his other car...? Its his daily driver, remember, I think an SAFC would be fine, for what he wants to do, and it would be a lot less down time to install.

SAFC's suck, but it is more convenient in his case, i think.

safc and 550's don't need a custom chip but with the 650's on the other hand you most likely will. I've run both those injectors and with the 650's tuning was a nightmare. I was taking so much fuel out on the safc that my timing was through the roof and causing knock. I ended up getting a chip to compensate for the 650's and all was good. Right now I'm running evo 560's with the safc and tuning is a breeze. I love simple :thumb:

Have you thought about running the evo maf and evo 560's? I am running that setup and love it right now, very little to no tuning required due to the evo maf compensation.
