1G Replaced TB gaskets, now I'm sitting with a crank but no start

(1993 TSI AWD) I recently redid my throttle body gaskets to help with an idle surge problem I was having. At first I cut my own gaskets out of material and installed them, car ran but it almost seemed like my idle surge was worse. So I bought OEM gaskets, fit them in, and now it almost sounds like some kind of sensor is preventing my car from starting. It like almost sputters up, then just instantly cuts out and goes back to just cranking. Did I f*** up one of the connections on the throttle body? Where do I start diagnosing this?

Do you have a check engine light? Will it run if you give it throttle? Have you performed a boost leak test? Can you post a log?

First, make sure the connectors are plugged in.

It could be ISC not bypassing enough air while trying to start.

If you hold the throttle open or partially open does it start better or at all?

Connections are plugged in, cleaned them out as well to make sure. I tried feathering throttle when I was starting, when I get off work I will be trying to see if open/half throttle gives me any success, but feathering the throttle didn't seem to do the trick.

No check engine light as of right now. No start with any amount of throttle it seems, I've just picked up the stuff to make martins homemade boost leak tester, I'll be testing that tonight hopefully. And I'm terribly sorry, by log do you mean any codes my cars thrown, like on an OBD?

Check all connections within the area including the connections at the thermostat housing. Loose connections, even accidently can cause this. You are sure all piping is connected? I've seen stuff that obvious. You did put all the piping back before you tried starting?

Ah, no worries. I noticed in your vehicle profile you mentioned "Data logger ECM" and I translated that to ECMLink. Maybe my assumption was wrong? Do you know what you are using for tuning and/or datalogging?

Could be a bad CAS connection, that's close to the TB..broken wire, broken connector..
Data log your cranking, do you see a constant rpm signal? It might be intermittent. It needs something to even fire the injectors but I've had bad connections vibrate themselves into discontinuity

Bah, that’s my apologies, that’s my other Eagle Talon I own. It’s currently 10 hours away from me with no motor or front subframe in it, trying to rebuild it correctly and fix all the imperfections. It had ECMLink from the previous owner, but the turbo blew before i got the chance to learn how the program worked.
The Talon I'm referring to is my black 93, it’s bone stock (learning my mistakes from buying modified vehicles)

I'm going to double check any connections in the area. Wish the Talon I'm was referring to in this post had ECMLink but it’s stock at the moment. I've found a connection or 2 with a broken clip, going to check to make sure I did not in fact vibrate something lose.

I’ve only just checked what I unplugged like an idiot thus far. Piping is all in place, hose clamps are tight as I can get them with the limited workspace on the bottom one.
