Replaced rear seats with RX7 storage bins [Merged 6-7] rear seat delete

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I searched the forums for topics about rear seat removal and found some, but none with pics. If anyone has any pics of their 2G with the rear seat removed I would appreciate it. Also, if you could go back in time would you do it again? Thanks!

i took everything out from the center console back... i have no plastics or seats in the hatch, check my gallery...

You shoudl get a Mitsu Symbol to fill the black void...just a suggestion

you should right up a vfaq on how do do that, cause i'm sure a ton of people (me included) are gonna wanna try that. how had do you think it would be to go back to stock?

I know I definitely wanna get rid of mine. Instead of having storage bins, what about putting some subs there? Will any fit?

I did that with my old red GSX about 3 years ago. Worked pretty well. And yeah, I used to be on talk....

Gee, I suddenly see why I never can find this goddamned thread with a search.

STORAGE.

D'ya see why grammar matters?

Corrected.

Wouldn't that be spelling, not grammar?

a while ago made a custom fiberglass back seat sub box. that one was painted black(didnt turn out good) then painted grey(matched the grey leather) and still turned out crappy, so it was covered in matching grey vinyl.

well after a while the vinyl started peeling, and i was at harbor freight one day and saw this nifty DA Sander for 30 bucks. so i said to myself "this is THE tool i need to do things right, the second time". so i bought it, came home, ripped off the vinyl and speakers/amp and started sanding. the DA sander made short work of high spots and ridges. what took me a day with the belt sander took me 30 seconds with the DA sander and came out 100x better.

i was using a slit in the vinyl for the seat belt holes, but since no vinyl i was gonna flush mount the covers from the stock side pieces. but i tried that and didnt come out too well, so i decided to use a bondo/reinforced fiberglass body filler mix and covered the gaping hole, and make smaller, more rounded holes that the largest part of the seat belt assembly can fit through.

alright and now to the second coat and shits put on. found some leftover chromeloomz from my tbird and decided that it might look pretty sweet with the chrome wire looms with the chrome amp and subs.

wtf some people see it and some dont. the people who can see the pics are running FF and the ones who cant are using IE. time to step away from IE n00bs. click the link at the bottom of the first post for the pics if you cant see them on here.

Looks good, not exactly my thing but I respect it for the time and effort you put into the project.

I was planning on doing a fiberglass project on my ride to delete the back seats and smooth out the trunk area. Seeing others projects like this has given me some great ideas. Thanks for showing us your work.
