removing alternator?

What is the best way to get the lower alternator nut off(the nut right above the oil filter). Theres barely any room for anything kind of tool to fit with the oil pump and exhaust in the way....

Definetly a good idea. It works great. As far as the lower bolt, I just usually take my filter off and throw a little more oil back in when im done.
 
Throw an open ended wrench on it (12), I just replaced mine on monday with little or no trouble (except for breaking my oil sending unit)
