Swapped dash harnesses since i got this donor dash out of a 1gb. My old dash was cracked almost all the way through! Also was not sure if the harnesses were the same, but not worth taking the risk. This was the cleanest dash i have found within a couple hours of me. Now just gotta figure out which rivots to get for the vin plate.

Thank you! I’ll have to drill them out and see what I’m dealing with. I’d imagine most vin plates are the same size rivots

On the KS Highway Patrol inspection form, there are a few different rivets to look for, I saw, during an inspection. If I can MOVE.....I can look at the dash rivets on any one of my DSMs, no problem. Those Rosetta rivets are a GM deal, but may be used by other car manufacturers.

Well I looked at 2 and they were both just a normal rivet on each side,.although they have thick heads not thin.

@1990TSIAWDTALON i just looked at mine, and yup the same thing here.

This is the back side, and i will dremel the rivots instead of trying to drill them. I don’t want to mess up the vin plate. I think I’ll be fine using standard rivots.

After getting the advance auto heater core i was able to get the heater boxes in. Next is to put the brass bushing in the clutch pedal, and get it welded. Then i can put the dash back in.

Got the whole front clip repainted by a local legend. Eventually the whole car will be painted, but this is almost half of the battle.

Clutch pedal welded. Pedal assembly, steering column, and dash all are back in. Been a long day.

This interior has come a long way the past couple weeks. This was a car left for dead with the windshield smashed out for years. Sitting outside in a field. Hopefully soon i can get a carpet cleaner, and really clean the carpet.

Slowly getting the interior back together. Need to get 6x9 speakers to finish the rest of the rear interior. Installed the stereo last night.

Put rear bumper on. (The rest of the car is getting painted just not right now) also got the whole rear suspension, and driveshaft in. Next just need to order some hardware, TOB, clutch fork, and then the engine can go in.

My painter told me to remove the doors from the hinge bolts on the door not the ones on the body. Apparently it’s easier to line them back up. Guess we will find out

Yes he's right I've removed several I have to to this again next week ill post after o getu tranny to tre soon he told me. Pics comin next week on stuff .

I was worried about this too especially being no way to mark where they were if painting the jambs. I bought new hinges too though so didn’t matter either way.

Doors are finished being painted, and the hatch was re-tinted. I forgot how much i hate scraping old tint

I used a hear gun it sucks nice work I have to pull my doors next week. Gonna paint the jambs and 2k clear it. Lot's to do.

Yeah man 409 and a heat gun works well. What actually sucked more was shrinking the new tint to the curve of the window. Glad my buddy is a tint guy. Haha

Doors, hatch, and wing all are back on. Still have to re-align all of the doors.
