Got the new new fuel/brake line holders, and the rear stainless steel brake lines. Still waiting on the 6an feed and return lines. Still debating to por-15 the bottom of the car, or just clean it off and send it. The paint is not too bad, and minimal surface rust on the underside

you werent kidding...that thing is getting justice done it! great build!
If life taught me anything it’s do it once do it right. I plan to drive this thing to the shootout one day… gotta make sure it makes it there and back! Haha

I had a 92 23 spline transmission that i was planning to rebuild, but a good deal popped up on a 91 23 spline transmission from a completely stock car with 123k miles. Figured i would throw this one in for now, and rebuild the other slowly over time.

If you open these keep in mind there are significant differences between 91, 92 and then 93 up. doesn't look to have a VIN number on it so could be a warranty unit. Anything could be inside.
I do not plan to open this one pictured. I plan to run it how it is. I know for a fact it came out of a 1991 eagle talon AWD. I saw the shell today, and the vin matched on car and trans. Car had 123k miles on the clock. The guy bought the car for the 6 bolt for his 2g. He’s selling the roller if anyone is in Maryland. It’s a black cherry with clean title.

I will be rebuilding the “92” trans i got from my friend. I do have to check that one to make sure it is actually a 92. The 92s are suppose to be stronger right?

Everybody favors the smaller 3/4 gear sets. 92 should have those and have the same 3rd gear in involute pitch as 93-99. That makes the intermediate shaft and center diff compatible with everything newer. Vs the 90 and 91.

VIN is right here, I just can’t make it out from my side of the screen. Even then, if it’s an Eagle or Plymouth VIN, it may not be enough to go off.

Ahh. I missed that

So the 92 trans would be the better option to rebuild? I was thinking about double synchro second.

In my opinion you have more options with the 92. 90 91 have specific parts that are only 90 91. 91 intermediate shaft is a one year only part. As is the center diff although 90 will interchange. The center diff differences are internal and do not change function. It's a shim design change.

What are you running for new lines?
Go back on the thread a little i added pictures of pre-bent stainless steel brake lines from classictube.com, and for fuel lines I’m doing 6an feed and return. I found 3D printed line holders to hold the brake lines and fuel lines together using the stock hangers.

It’s been way too cold here in south eastern PA to do anything on the car without a heated garage, but lately iv been driving around picking up bigger items that people won’t ship. On my adventures iv found both driver and passenger doors, a clean headliner board, super clean fuel tank with no broken studs, pretty clean rear hatch panels since Iv decided to just replace my interior panels rather than paint mine. I have also managed to finally find the illusive 1ga door moldings! Took months until someone finally posted a set for sale. Last but certainly not least i sent my moldy looking sun visors out to a guy on the Facebook tuners page to get done. They turned out great, and a local upholstery shop was able to match the exact material for my headliner. Hopefully this weather breaks soon, and I’ll be posting actual progress on the car!

While removing the rear bumper to get repainted i found my license plate bracket totally rusted out. Cant believe stm still has them. Also got my feet wet with por-15 and coated the fuel hanger. I’m trying to find the strength and determination to swap dashes, and fix the pedal assembly that I’m sure has never been welded.

Started replacing the heater core, and during removal decided to remove the carpet to shop vac under it, and found pretty heavy rust on the passenger floor board. (car was sitting in a field with a broken windshield) knocked all of the loose rust off and wire brushed it to put por-15 over it. None of the spots felt soft so I’ll just seal it and call it good for now. Also got a new front grille badge! Didn’t know they were being made!

I ordered the 1gb badge a couple months ago for the rear because they fit inside the original holder on the rear of the 1ga, and that one came in a little iffy looking. This one tho looks very nice!
