I dig those auto meter gauges, I'll have to find photos, but one of my old Lasers I had the wideband mounted onto the clear plastic part of the gauge cluster. Granted I had it offset so I could still see all the other dash gauges too, but I really liked it like that. I'd say do it. (EDIT) I realize you're talking about the O2 sensor itself, not gauge placement 😂. I believe I kept my stock o2 sensor and then ran the wideband after the bend to get it under the car

Like replace the OEM o2 sensor with the wideband sensor, and then simulate through link. Or just run both sensors.
Personally I would recommend both if you can. At least with my AEM I'm very glad I kept the stock narrow band due to some instability and long preheat of the wideband. Maybe autometer is better.

Yes i absolutely could keep both without issues. I just hate how the stock sensor wiring goes over the manifold. Look ugly. I guess i could run it along the water pipe.

Yes absolutely run both sensors. Keep the stock type narrow band in the O2 housing just like stock. Put a bung in your downpipe for the wideband sensor.
People often have doubts about how accurate their wideband is. If you still have the narrowband in there, you can use it to help verify the wideband one way or the other.
The bung for the wideband shouldn't go too far aft. Usually a best place to put it is like this on my car:
