did you use the same driveshaft? or is that a custom one?

All custom... Like damn near everything else on the car. The rear shaft is a Toyota double cardon joint, and I had the same in the front, but I needed more slip yoke, so I made up the rock crawler special one night:

I'm pretty sure he's up around the Bay Area, one of my friends is big into trick riding on sportsbikes and has his videos... he has more toys than anyone i know. Yeah the 240 lights up the tires in every gear... but he beats sport bikes in it. I'd like to see a blown LS6 in a 240.

Just so your aware...You have a square driveshaft. And do you have a beard? Because if thats a beard I see, you just went from cool to hillbilly.

You don't like my driveshatf?

Nope, no beard.. May not be a hillbilly, but I'm probably not far from it.

I liked the square driveshaft for rock crawling. It's spinning so slow it doesn't matter if it's balanced or not. I thought it was ingenious actually.

I'd like to see that vid on the dirt road..... :D

Nope, don't mind at all. You did a great install. I really like the flip you did on the turbo. I might have to do that one of these days.

Folks, if you got 'em, post 'em!

The new shop is almost ready for drywall, so things are starting to take shape around here.

Damn the above message is a mess. I pretty much make a point of ignoring stuff like the above unless english is not a primary language.

But for you I will make an exception, I would suggest for your Jeep that you make the driveshaft out of 2 round tubes. Should work much better. :thumb:

You got a site that sounds sweet

That is very impressive :thumb: Awsome swap idea, nice to see some people still aren't afraid of a little custom fabrication  Seeing that adapter plate has me trying to think of what I want to drop a 4g63 into..... ;)

Guys from bushur racing built a rwd drag car with a 4g63 and a B&M powerglide tranny
that thing did like 9s or lower, I'm not sure. So yeah this could be some cool shit.

HOLY CRAP!!

As soon as I saw those first few pics I thought: "that looks like that guy Rotozuk from Pirate4x4" Then I looked at the screen name and crapped.

I've been keeping up with that build over at Pirate. I was totally amazed when I first read about the build up. Damn good job on the final build. I'm sure the other 4x4ers are a little perplexed when you give a little BOV salute while rockcrawling.

I have a Samurai that I eventually plan on building up a little as well, but being that I haven't even upgraded the shackles on the thing, I haven't gotten too involved on PBB.

So, I'm sure everyone here wants to know. DO YOU VENT YOU BOV OR NOT??

:D

I did have the BOV vented for some test drives, but plumbed it back in so it would idle. Kind of nice to have it silent. Doesn't tip off the traffic in the lane next to me. :p

Will be adding a SAFC soon, and some other goodies to tune a little more power out of her. I'm pretty sure she is running pretty rich.

My buddy clocked my speed on the highway the other day. Cruising along at 75 mph, and passing traffic at 85-90 mph. Not bad for Samurai. The aerodynamics on these vehicle suck, so I was surprised it was going that fast with little effort. (75 mph is about 3,500 rpms in 5th.)

Nice job man. Props on that adaptor plate. I was considering getting a Starion to do the swap to and use a T-5 trans.

The T-5 family of transmissions can be nice. Which version are you going to use, and how will you adapt it?

-Wayne

I'm not building one I was interested in it. I wanted to use a T-5 because my friends Dad builds them. I would ask you to make me an adaptor.
